My wife tells me one evening "BTW - the washer won't work, it smelled like something was burning for a couple of days and it seems broken. We need to get a new one...and a new dryer too, because it needs to match"
We've had this thing for 18 yrs, so I figured it was about time to get another. Then, after looking at prices for new washer/dryer set, I had to try fixing it myself 1st.
The videos on the site helped me know how to open the washer and diagnose the issue (bad motor). The site picked the correct replacement part, and I had it here in 2 days. The video stepped me through exactly how to complete installation of the replacement. This isn't what I normally do, so I worked slowly (and cleaned out the inside) while I had it open, and it still took less than an hour.
Plugged it in and it worked like a champ. New motor and new belt have it running quieter than it has in a while.
I spent less than 1/10th of what I would have on a new washer/dryer set. Thank you for the help.
