I opened up the dryer, removed the belt. The belt was riddled with cracking and was very dry so I figured the belt was slipping on the drum.
When I received the new belt I stretched the 2 belts out together. The new one was definitely shorter, indicating the old belt was stretched. I installed the new belt and the dryer works like new.
