After some inspection of the parts, the agitator, the hub & then the gear case I found that the hub was completely stripped of the teeth that mesh with the output shaft or gear case shaft. I removed the agitator, the hub and then removed the gear case. I then ordered new parts, the hub and the gear case. Replaced all the new parts and the wash machine is like new again.
