This is a metal mesh grease filter that fits inside a range hood or vent hood above your cooktop. It captures grease and oil particles from cooking vapors before they enter the ventilation system. Replace this filter if it is visibly clogged with grease buildup, warped, or if your range hood is no longer effectively removing smoke and odors during cooking.

It's bit of a chore in that on my Whirlpool Refrig you need to remove the grill on bottom front and the Utility Panel on bottom rear. Then unscrew the original filter housing and pull it out through the back of utility opening. Remove the two water hoses and put them into new filter house. Reverse the disassembly process to reinstall new filter housing. I'm old and slow so the process took me about 45 minutes. (Note: Unplug electric and turn off water inlet before starting.) Read more

I removed the plastic plate at the top of the microwave (behind the door) by unscrewing two screws with a screwdriver. I then pulled out the old filter, and placed the new one in the designated area. No tools are needed to insert the filter....just a screwdriver to remove/replace the plastic plate. Very simple. Read more

I started by watching the video posted by couple of people on youtube on how to replace a microwave handle. After taking out the liner, I hit a roadblock with unscrewing the handle screw. The grip on the front side had basically melted causing it to be loose, so the screw and the plastic part would rotate together. After trying several things, I gave up and took it to Ace hardware to find an extractor of some sort. Luckily, the guys there used several tools and managed to get the screw out.... Read more
