I will say that the GE Washer/Dryer combo is nice if you need to save space, but trying to fix it was far from "fun". It took several hours to get to the location of the Seal Tub. First the dryer had to come off the top, then pretty much every bit of the internals needed to come out too, The seal could not be accessed from the bottom of the machine, and it wasn't easy to get to it from the top. Ordered the parts from Appliancepartspros.com and watched their helpful video on how to do it. When the parts came, which was very quickly, I removed the stove, took it apart, replaced the element and put it back in place in less than an hour. Read more

This job was fast. About 2 minutes. Just need to pull the old gasket out. Generally can be done with your hands but may need pliers if any of the metal wires get caught. Read more

The previous tenant in my daughter's new apartment apparently had a grease fire of sorts in the GE XL44 gas oven. This left the insulating double glass panes so fouled up that one could not see into the oven. I removed the oven door (just lifts off the hinges) and proceeded to disassemble the door so as to get to the glass panes. These gaskets (seals) are friction held in a groove and just pull out by hand. The new ones simply can be pushed back into the groove by using your fingers to go around and work them in. Pull a corner of the old one out and push it back in to see how the fit. The gaskets need warming and softening with a hair dryer to straighten after arrival for correct shape, better fit, workability, and to regain their shape, but this is a simple job. All parts arrived in one box - I purchased the tub gasket, lower door gasket and lower door seal. My existing parts were visibly pretty worn out, dishwasher is 12 years old (maybe should have just bought anew one?). Tub gasket was pretty easy, it took me a while to make sure it was even all the way around, after attest run and the subsequent drying heat it fits nicely.
