Ge WH20X10093 Drive Motor OEM Part

New motor. The motor was ok, but the control board mounted on the motor wasn't. Can't buy to control board separate from the motor. Easy to replace the motor, but not so easy to troubleshoot to make sure the problem was the motor and not something else.

I first tried resetting the motor to no avail and checked the belt and looked for a bind or obstruction. I was getting the nine blinks on the LED. Since being without a washer is like having no water I pulled the trigger and ordered a new motor assy. I have to say I was shocked at how fast I got the part and how simple it was to replace. I ordered it over the weekend and they shipped it first thing monday morning for about 8 bucks and I had it by early tuesday afternoon!! All you have to do is unplug the washer, pop off the front panel with a putty knife and everything is easy to get at. Remove 4 nuts,unplug it remembering where the plugs go and rotate the motor sideways to remove it. You have to bybass the fuse assy with a jumper wire (included with instructions) Be sure the new motor is fully seated and tighten the nuts and plug the wires back in. There is a trick to putting the belt back on and there is a video on youtube on how to do this using a zip tie. Washer now works like new.

Replaced motor.

Replaced electric drive motor, reused drive belt. Other suggestions for failure like fusible link, lid latch, suds/fill switch, timer, all checked out ok. Takes way tool long to diagnose problem. Deciding to replace a $200 motor on a $500 washing machine that has several years use is questionable. Appliancepartspros.com offers to have unused parts returned. Big factor in guessing what parts to replace!

Checked top lid switch with meter for continuity. Checked drum water level switch in top panel with a meter. Outer two terminals should show continuity when empty. Got a 6 flashing light on motor meaning locked rotor even though the motor spins freely. Bad converter board but you just can't buy the board!!!! Worked belt off of large wheel easily, unbolted and removed motor and replaced with the new motor. You have to tilt motor forward to remove those back two nuts!!! The new motor has a very short smooth section below the grooves for the belt, unlike the long smooth section on the old motor. This means the gadget to assist in installing the VERY TIGHT belt won't work. Worked belt partially around the big wheel and worked the belt up as high as possible on the motor pulley. Then used a long screw driver to push up on the belt at the motor as I worked the belt around the large wheel by turning it. Ensured it tracked properly. Plugged the washer back in and saw one slow flashing light. Held my breath and put it on spin. SUCCESS! Total time minus the cussing while figuring out how to get the belt on --- 1 hour.
