The Tray Motor is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It is the component responsible for smoothly rotating the turntable tray during operation. A functioning tray motor ensures even heat distribution for consistent cooking results.
Causes of a bad tray motor can include wearing of internal bushings or bearings, defects in the windings, or damage from liquid intrusion over time.
Symptoms of a bad tray motor include:
- Turntable tray not spinning or rotating unevenly
- "Turntable On" indicator blinking or remaining constantly lit
- Burnt or cold spots on cooked food items
- Loud grinding or clicking noises coming from inside
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore microwave models.
