I pulled the DW out, pulled off the old blanket pieces, vacuumed up the millions of small parts, then put the new blanket on, I did use some packing tape to hold it in place. Easy! The challenge was moving the unit out, then back in, but that was simply time and a little effort. Read more

I stood by the dishwasher as it went through the cycles and noted the noise only happened during the drain processes. To make this repair you have to take the dishwasher completely out from under the counter. (NOTE: print the schematic to help guide you to the location of the part and connections.) Initially I replaced the rear drum bearing assembly. I searched all over for a good how-to video and came across the Appliance Pros tutorial on YouTube. It was by far the easiest to understand with the added bonus that AP had the parts I needed. I had never done this before, but using the video as my guide I was able to replace the rear bearing assembly in about an hour and a half. Replaced rear bearing, upper and lower felts, drive belt. Have repaired dryer before for same problem years ago, knew what to do, on line diagrams helped to move memory. I removed the dial knob and plate as instructed by the video, removed the front panel of the washer to access the switch. I found the plastic molded bracket that the timer rests on to be broken and the tab on the timer where it is attached by a screw to be broken. I ordered a replacement switch, dial and knob. First I took the back top panel off the stove. The crackling was coming from the control element. I went directly to AppliancePartsPros.com diagram to see what part I needed. Ordered and the part was delivered within 72 hours. The installation was so easy. Pull a couple wire off and reinstall them on the new control. No more crackling.
