This is a genuine OEM recoil starter assembly sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is designed for use on pressure washers. Recoil starters are comprised of a rope, pulley, and tension spring. When the rope is pulled, the tension spring is released from the pulley, and the crankshaft spins, starting the engine. If any component in the recoil starter assembly is broken or missing, the engine will not start. Often, it is simpler and quicker to replace the whole assembly than it is to take it completely apart to replace one component. Replacement takes less than ten minutes. Before starting, remove the spark plug to ensure the engine doesn't accidentally fire up. Use a screwdriver to remove the damaged recoil start assembly. Place the new assembly on the pressure washer and install the screw. Tighten the screw until it is snug, but do not overtighten. Reinstall the spark plug.
