The Alumilastic Cement is an OEM part for Whirlpool appliances, typically used in refrigerators and freezers. It serves as a thermal mastic compound, designed to provide a secure and heat-conductive bond between various components, such as evaporator coils and the interior walls of the appliance.
Causes of a bad alumilastic cement can include drying out, cracking, or losing its adhesive properties over time. This can occur due to age, exposure to temperature fluctuations, or improper application. When the cement fails, it can lead to poor thermal conductivity and decreased cooling efficiency.
Symptoms of a bad alumilastic cement include:
- Reduced cooling performance
- Unusual noises from the cooling system
- Components becoming loose or detaching
- Increased energy consumption
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

My refrigerator compressor starting 2 or 3 times each time it was called to run due to a weak overload switch Charles W. • Mancelona , MI • January 07, 2016
I replaced the start relay and overload switch with the single part Overload/Relay part number AP3119971. Now it operates like new. Had no problem replacing part, just followed instructions. I was very pleased at a single part replacement for both, relay and overload. I was expecting just to replace the overload. This is much, mush better. It's been running for over a week with no problems,

The handle on the refrigerator door was broken and needed to be replaced Richard W. • Baltimore , MD • April 12, 2015
Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. The most irritating part was figuring out what parts to order. The drawing of the refrigerator door (Drawing # 4) used to figure out what parts to order was not clear. I paid $8...

Fan noise Richard W. • Plano , TX • May 29, 2017
Removed the back cover to access the fan area. Clean the area with brush and vac first. Unplugged the Refrigerator. Used a socket set with 1/4" socket. Had an extended and a standard socket. Removed the condensate plastic drain from the bottom of the refrigerator to have more access to the fan. Unplugged the fan motor. Removed the two screws holding the fan in place. Removed the fan unit from the condenser side of the bracket. Place new fan on the fan and installed exactly the way I removed the...
