This compressor overload is a thermal protector that opens the circuit if the compressor overheats or draws excessive current. Replacing a failed overload restores reliable starts and helps prevent compressor damage when your refrigerator won't cool.
- Protects the compressor by interrupting power during overheat/overcurrent conditions
- Common symptoms: refrigerator not cooling, compressor won't start, repeated clicking or brief hum then shutoff
- Mounts on the compressor terminal and works alongside the start relay on applicable models
- Built for proper fit and dependable operation in the start circuit
What's included: One overload protector
- Unplug the refrigerator and remove the rear access panel to reach the compressor
- Note wire positions; pull the old overload straight off the compressor pin
- Push the new overload fully onto the correct terminal and reconnect wiring/terminal cover
- Restore power and verify the compressor starts without repeated clicking

This trash compactor is in our vacation home. We never use it and now we are selling the house. When I looked to replace it I was amazed at how expensive a new compactor would cost. I found the serial number on the current compact entered it and your web site came up. Your schematics were excellent and made the repair very easy!

The Ice Thermistor Assembly is the temperature sensor your refrigerator uses to monitor the ice maker/ice compartment. Accurate readings help the control time harvests and maintain proper ice room temperature, restoring consistent ice production when the sensor fails. What it does
- Senses temperature at the ice maker/ice compartment and reports to the control
- Helps the control time ice harvests and, on some models, manage ice box airflow
- Can address issues like no ice, intermittent/slow ice production, or ice clumping/melting
- Clear a thermistor-related fault noted in service diagnostics
What's included
- One ice thermistor assembly
Install notes
- Disconnect power before servicing
- Access the ice maker/ice compartment; note original sensor placement and wire routing
- Transfer any clips/insulators if present, connect the new harness, and secure the sensor in the same location
- Restore power and run the unit's ice maker/service test (if available) to operation

There are plenty of DIY youtube videos to show you how to replace the parts. I went ahead and replaced more than just the broken parts. I figured if I had the machine opened up, I might as well replace parts that could go out in the future. I might have gone a bit too far with all the other parts. The only part that was really broken was the wiring harness. Two of the wires had corroded from the sockets and there was no other way than to replace the entire harness. Its a bit tricky to feed...

The Overload is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It is an important component of the refrigerator's compressor system, providing protection against electrical overload.
The overload helps safeguard the compressor from excessive electrical currents, preventing potential damage and ensuring the longevity of the refrigerator. It acts as a safety measure by interrupting the power supply to the compressor when necessary.
Causes of a faulty overload can include power surges, excessive heat, or electrical component failure. These factors can lead to the overload not properly regulating the electrical flow, resulting in compressor issues or the refrigerator not cooling effectively.
Symptoms of a bad overload may include:
- The refrigerator not cooling or maintaining the desired temperature
- Unusual noises coming from the compressor
- The compressor not running at all
This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

This water reservoir tube routes chilled water from the refrigerator's internal reservoir to the dispenser line. Replacing a brittle, kinked, or cracked tube restores steady flow and helps stop leaks inside the fresh food compartment.
- Carries water between the reservoir and the dispenser supply path
- Maintains a sealed route to reduce internal leaks and air intrusion
- Damage or kinks can cause slow/no dispensing, intermittent flow, or water pooling near the crisper area
- Fresh tubing helps protect shelves and liners from water damage
What's included: 1 water tube Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off the household water supply before servicing
- Dispense water to relieve line pressure; place a towel/container to catch residual water
- Note original routing; avoid sharp bends and contact with moving or warm components
- Fully seat the tube into quick-connect fittings; tug gently to confirm it's locked

First found that the cutter assembly had failed - had to replace it; ordered one from this site and easily changed it out. Then, diagnosed that the recirculation pump had failed as well. Ordered the parts and with some difficulty (mounting screws in tight spaces) replaced it and installed new tubing. Cleaned all surfaces and now back in business. Making beautiful square cubes again.
