I ordered a new lid. However the lid switch actuator was MIA, and not knowing that this is a separate part, I figured ordering a new lid, all the parts would be supplied. Not so much. Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) Ordered the lid switch and it was an easy repair. A $14.00 switch was a lot cheaper than a $450.00 washer. Thanks appliance parts... Read more

Part number 3949428 dial from appliance pros came in 2 days. Needed in three days as I was traveling to my vacation home. Previous occupant called me and let me know the washer was not working and described the problem. He sent picture in a text of the dial and model number. I diagnosed from description of problem: knob would pull inandout but dial would not select. Repair took less than 2 minutes knob unscrews and dial snaps off . It was easy, once I fixed out how to take the timer knob off. We had to remove the end off of the front cover, and lift up the front cover. We saw instructions on the back of the timer to remove it. It was easy and fast. The washing machine works great. The timer was expensive, but it was cheaper than buying a new washer. Read more
