Cooktop burner not heating or making humming noise? This relay controls power to burners. DIY repair takes 10-15 minutes with basic tools.
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Relay failed in my jenn air slide in stove Daniel F. • Mclean , VA • November 05, 2015
Troubleshooting was non-trivial. After determining the front-panel switch was not the problem, had to pull the unit out of the countertop slot, pull the top of the stove off to get to the relay area. Then swapped wires between suspected faulty relay and a relay that was still 'clicking' to confirm the fault. Then put everything back together so we could eat until receipt of the new part. Then take the top back off, install the new part, button everything back up.

If your dryer won't change heat settings or runs on high heat regardless of cycle selection, the fabric selector switch likely failed. 30-minute repair.
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
High heat when air tumble was selected. David L. • Fort Washington , PA • June 25, 2021
I did not bother to troubleshoot the original parts. After 20 years I figured that I should just replace them both. The hardest part of the repair was determining how to access the control panel. Once that was done, it was merely a matter of 5 minutes to swap out the parts. The relay simply screwed in. The switch as designed for easier, non screw, replacement, pointing out that they expected this switch to fail and need to be easily replaced.
