Easy job. Had some issues connecting metal hoses to the plastic threads on the valve. Be cautious to not cross thread. Layout down towel to absorb water from the fill hoses and hoses out of the old valve. Took close to 40 min to get tools, complete job and put tools away. Read more

Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!)
