My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Plastic parts cleaned up like new, metal parts were pitted. I wire brushed and sanded the parts put it all back together and gave it a try. Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it back in, appears to return to normal function. Return to kitchen half hour 45 minutes later it's short cycling again. Replaced motor and new solenoid and yoke assembly, motor ran fine but Ice maker did not make Ice, water was turned on and the wire off and on latch was is the down position (on). Disconnected the water line from the Ice maker tray, ice had formed in the line while I was waiting for my parts (about 5 days), I would suggest disconnecting the water line at the feed end were your shut off valve is located and allow water to drain out of line. Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. Defrosted coil and removed defrost heater connectors, measured no continuity in the heater and ordered a replacement. Also discovered the aluminum retention strap was broken and the heater had slipped down in it's position, ordered and replacement strap. Re-installed new heater and strap per the video instructions, repair complete. Most difficult steps were drilling out the drain pan rivet and re-threading... Read more

I bought this part to fix the basket hanger on my Mom's fridge. It worked perfectly. The only thing to know about the pic of part is it says it is left side hanger and it is but the pic is confusing. I had to print out the pic and turn the pic upside down to make sure it would work on the correct side for the fridge. It is truly the left side but the pic makes it look like it is the right side hanger. Confusing, I know but for it to actually show it is the left side the image of the part... Read more
