Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it back in, appears to return to normal function. Return to kitchen half hour 45 minutes later it's short cycling again. Panel has codes on it (S or 5 E CE, later that changes to S or 5 Y CE). Research of codes says replace main board and control board. Not sure where this main board is. 22 Sep call appliance repair. Replaced motor and new solenoid and yoke assembly, motor ran fine but Ice maker did not
make Ice, water was turned on and the wire off and on latch was is the down position (on).
Disconnected the water line from the Ice maker tray, ice had formed in the line while I was
waiting for my parts (about 5 days), I would suggest disconnecting the water line at the feed end

Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. Defrosted coil and removed defrost heater connectors, measured no continuity in the heater and ordered a replacement. Also discovered the aluminum retention strap was broken and the heater had slipped down in it's position, ordered and replacement strap. Re-installed new heater and strap per the video instructions, repair complete. Most difficult steps were drilling out the drain pan rivet and re-threading...
