I replaced the ball and socket connection for the drum. After doing so, I realized that the belt had been stretched and the tension pulley was not putting enough tension on the belt to turn the drum. After ordering a new belt, extra screw that was lost while disassembling the dryer, and some high temperature lubricant for the drum ball and socket the dryer now runs as well as it did when it was new. Disconnect power (and water, if applicable) and follow before starting; use proper PPE.
Door removal and panel replacement often require basic hand tools; save and reuse original screws, handles, and trim unless replacements are supplied.

Large panels can be awkward—have a second person assist to avoid dropping or bending the panel.

I took 11 year old washer apart, by watching step by step instructional video on this site. Found the problem & order the part (inner tub,shaft & spider). It's a shame you can't just order the spider, because the stainless steel tub & shaft were still perfectly good. Apparently, this is the manufactures way of making money.
