Bought a used Frigidaire 36 inch stove. The broiler didn't come on but the burners lit and the stove worked so I made do for about 4 or 5 years with that. Before we replaced the board, my wife tried to replace just the element. We had one we had ordered several years ago when this same thing happened. When that didn't work we replaced the board and could see where the old board was damaged so we figured this was the solution. Had to pull double oven and range top out from wall which involved removing the upper kitchen cabinet. Took the sheet metal off the back and had the socket swapped out in a couple of minutes. My old oven works like a charm! Read more

Turned off power to oven. Removed the oven door. Unscrewed and removed the metal plate. Pulled element off wires and attached them to the new element. (This took needle nose pliers and many attempts. Needed dexterous fingers and good eyesight.) Put everything back. Read more

I ordered a part to replace the oven door light switch. I got the oven apart easy enough, but when I was ready to install the part, I found the replacement part only had 2 tabs and not the 4 tabs the original one had. After getting error code and doing a bit of research, I decided to order the part and replace myself. Part took about three days to get. With the help of a instructional video online, I took my Kenmore Elite gas stove top apart. Other than removing stubborn screws, the latch motor was an easy fix. Read more
