Hi Timm. Per your description I presume it runs with water but does not heat. Then remove the front panel and look for the 2-large wires together on the board. Let it fill with hot water and verify incoming water at the sink is at least 120° while filling. Select heated dry. Then let the unit run for at least 10-15 minutes. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Insert your red meter lead at the control board terminals and see if there is 120 vac output as the black meter lead will be on chassis ground. If there is no voltage output from the control board then stop operations and see if there is a open solder joint on back of the control board. If so then replace the control board part # 00186923. Then disconnect the wires from the board. Select ohms scale on your meter. Place the red meter lead into the wire connector itself and test for ohms as the black meter lead is on ground as well. If there is resistance then the thermal fuse and the heater part # 00480317 circuit is good. Along with the wire circuit connections as well. If not then you access each component itself and with the wires disconnected, ohm each component. The thermal fuse needs to be closed -0 ohms. If open (infinity) replace it. The heater should read 11 ohms =/-10% tolerance. Make sure to test the heater ohms to ground as well for a short (0-ohms). Thank You.

Hello Tony, The heater 00480317 is an electronic component that is really put through the paces, but I still cannot advise to replace a good part. If you test the heater and it tests bad, certainly replace it at that time.

Hi Lee. The wash light lit up means that the ntc circuit needs replaced. Part # 00480317. This is an upgraded part design from the manufacture to keep this from happening again. Thank you for the nice comment we try, I wish I could tell you this will be a breeze, but that's not the case on this one my friend, My best advice to you on this one is to remove the unit from the counter, and lay it on its back, that is the only way you will gain access to the AP2802450 just take your time and be careful be sure to turn power off before you start, you will see the assembly, and you will have to remove the bottom to get to it , also be sure you tighten up all the clamps when you put the new one on ,I forgot one of them one time the customer was talking to me and I forgot one pay attention or you will to . Thank you and good luck !

Takman for Model Number SHU5315UC/U12

My dishwasher runs for approx 3-4 hrs, even on Delicate/Econo mode. It sounds normal until the timer runs down to 1 min and then just runs for about 1-2 hrs and will eventually finish with "CL". The dishes are hot, but don't appear to be as clean as they should be. I can Cancel/Drain when I notice the "1" appearing with the same results. It appears that the dishwasher is still washing (?) during the "1". I recall the dishwasher being quiet during the heater drying cycle in the final minutes. Does this sound like a control module, heater or thermistor issue ?

Hi Takman. First open the control board and see if you have 120 vac output from the control board to the heater. You need to do this while the unit is in a diagnostic mode. There should be a tech. sheet in the control board or the lower kick panel. If you do not have 120 vac out on the red wire at the board then gain access to the board and examine to see if there is a open solder joint on the board. You can use the door switch neutral for your meter black lead. Test the heater part # 00480317 for continuity while you are at the board. The control board is part # 00266746. Control Module - Made by Bosch. Common program control module for Bosch dishwashers SHU53/68. NOTE The manufacturer has redesigned the cover and indicator lights. Lights may be covered by the plastic case. You may have to remove the square covers over the indicator lights if needed. The same case is used for 6 and 8 indicator light models. They also no longer use the red bulb indicator lights, small surface mounted lights are used instead. Thank You.

Hi Melia. You can at least try a couple of things. Remove power. Remove the racks and all wash arms. Use a pick tool to invert the wash arms in the sink and flush out completely with warm water. If the jet holes are plugged, cleaning is diminished greatly. Then. Use a shop vac, towels or paper towels to remove the top filter plate inside the top of the pump motor area. Set all parts very carefully aside as you know how to reassemble them. Clean all parts is the main issue. When you reach the chopper blade (stainless), you are pretty much all the way to the bottom. Check the sink to see if there is at least 120° incomming to the sink. Always run water hot while loading as to insure proper fresh fill. Adjust water heater as necessary. Use dishwasher magic monthly to insure proper performance. Part # TJ104. Start by doing these things. Let us know if we can assist further. Thank You.

Hello Missy. The water temperature is regulated with the heater assembly 00480317. This uses a thermistor 00165281 to read the temperature of the water. The assembly includes the thermistor. Hope this helps.
