For Bosch Heater Assembly (Part Number: OEM8407359)

1 Answer

Brian, You can test the heating circuit from the control board of the unit. Unfortunately we can not advise which connector you would test it on as we do not have a wiring diagram for this model.

I suspected a water valve inlet issue, but after running the self-test diag program, I now see the the "Heating & Circulating" phase of the test seems to run continuously. I have also noted that the dishwasher seems to run for a long time (>2 hours). In addition, we have been getting soap residue left of the dishes, especially plasticware, at the end of the cycle. I am now suspecting that the water is not reaching the requisite 150F. Does this seem like a reasonable conclusion, or is there something else I can do to narrow the problem? What is the appropriate part for the heating component on this Bosch model, and what are the change-out procedures?

1 Answer

Randy, The conclusion that you came too is a good one. You will want to pull the control board and look for burn marks on the control. Also check the heater to make sure that it is good and if both check ok then check the wiring from the heater to the control board, specifically where the wiring goes into the door.

Hello John, There is a slight possibility of having a wiring issue or the NTC Sensor could have failed. This is not likely as it is normally the heating element that is the issue.

Maya, Based on the description it sounds like the issue that you are having with the unit would be caused by a faulty heater circuit not allowing the water to get to proper temperature. Check the wiring in the door for broken or damaged wires. Check to make sure that the heater is getting power from the control board.

Don for Model Number SHU43C

Our dishwasher has just started leaving a white powder like residue(when dry) on mostly plastic dished. We have always used cascade powder, jet dry and public water supply. We have had it about 5 yrs and it has just started this problem. Nothing has changed in the way we use the washer. I have dissasembled the filters down to the impeller and cleaned. Removed the water channels to the top rotor and cleaned. Should the water be heated on all cycles or just at the end? Could this be the problem? We have run vinegar thru as well. Thanks for the help. Don

1 Answer

Hello Don. The water should always be ran hot into the unit and is heated during the cycles. Look for low water levels and replace the valve if needed. Low water level will cause this issue.

Hi Sante. Without the model # all I can do is tell you to use dishwasher cleaner part # TJ104. Remove the lower rack and examine the wash arms to see if the jet holes are clogged. Remove them and use a pick tool to clear the debris. Rinse the wash arm upside down under sink water. Remove the pump top cover. Remove the parts internally one at a time and clean so you can reassemble them in order. As you get to the chopper blade at the bottom, you might have a broken or clogged blade. This is a common issue in all dishwashers. Thank You.
