Charles September 28, 2013 for Model Number 253.44519607 Do you have a repair video specific to the Kenmore Elite refrigerator, Model No. 253.44519607 for repairing the evaporator motor? The one you have on your site is for a Whirlpool and installation is different.
1 Answer Charles, To replace the evaporator fan motor you will need to remove the shelving in the freezer compartment. Once removed then you will remove the lower panel in the back of the freezer. With this panel off you will be able to access the fan motor. The fan shroud can come out, just make sure you see how it is in place. You will disconnect the wire harness plug on the fan motor and remove the fan blade. There is a bracket that holds the fan motor in place. You will remove the bracket and the fan motor and install the new fan motor and reassemble. Read More...
Charlie C September 12, 2013 for Model Number 241509402 I have the evaporator fan in hand (241509402), that carries red, yellow, blue & brown wire. How can I test the fan if it is working motor?
1 Answer Hello Charlie. Check for 12vdc to fan between... more red and brown wires. Check for variant voltage (depending on high or low speed) between yellow and brown. If it checks ok then replace the Evaporator fan. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
D. W December 03, 2012 for Model Number 241509402 I have a Frigidaire refrigerator. The error codes messages are EF and SY. The part # is: 241509402 and model # is: LGHS2634KP0
1 Answer Hello D. W. The error code that you are getting indicates a Evaporator fan 809069220 failure. You want to check the wiring at the fan motor and at the control board. Check for 12vdc to fan between red and brown wires. Check for variant voltage (depending on high or low speed) between yellow and brown. If it checks ok then replace the Evaporator fan. If error code still exists then replace main control board 5303918514. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
