Tim August 05, 2016 for Model Number FGHS2369KP1 There are 4 wires on the evaporator motor (241509402/AP3958808). How do I check if the motor itself is good with a meter and what readings should i get if motor is good.
1 Answer Tim, You will wan to do a voltage test on the motor to see if there is 12vdc to the motor on the red and yellow wires. If there is proper voltage then the fan motor would be faulty and need replaced. Read More...
Pd August 02, 2016 for Model Number FLSC23F6DS7 I have a Frigidaire FLSC23F6DS7 side-by side fridge. I keep getting a EF error. Unplugging and re-plugging the fridge does nothing. Pulled out the evap fan motor (241509402) to test for voltages and voltages seem fine. When I plug the fan back in and turn on the fridge error disappears. Thinking that we need a new control board but which one and where is it?
1 Answer PD, If the fan is operating after unplugging an plugging back up then it would most likely be the control board that is causing the issue. Read More...
Kisoo January 07, 2016 for Model Number EI28BS56IS0 I have an Electrolux fridge. Model No is EI28BS56IS0 . The evaporator fan is not working. I tested my Evaporator fan part #241509402 with a multi-meter. From brown and red is shows a reading. From Brown and yellow it shows no reading. I have a new motor. This is same as old one. I checked voltage from main control board to fan motor connector brown and red has 12vdc, brown and yellow 6vdc. fan is not running. I set diagnosed "15" evaporator fan motor 'LOW" "HIGH" but the fan doesn't running and brown and red 12vdc, brown and yellow 6vdc. The voltage doesn't change it. When I jumped red and yellow wire fan running. I think main control board bad. I would greatly appreciate if you email me the answer. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Kisoo. If the fan motor is new, and still does not run, you will need to replace the main board in the unit. Read More...
Tammy December 30, 2015 for Model Number FGHB2844LF5 Refrigerator not keeping temp Freezer temp says 5Y refrigerator temp says EF. Please help! Frigidaire Gallery
1 Answer Hello Tammy. Error Code SY EF is the System Evaporator Fault. This usually means there is not enough air flow over the sensor, this can mean a faulty sensor, or evaporator fan motor. You will need to look for a defrost issue and check the fan motor in the unit. Read More...
Confused September 26, 2015 for Model Number FGHN2844LF8 There are 4 wires on the evaporator motor (241509402/AP3958808). What is the blue wire for? Both the red and yellow are said to be "pos" and the brown is "neg" when testing the mating plug coming from the refrigerator.
1 Answer Hello Confused, The blue wire is the feed to the defrost thermostat. This enables the defrost circuit to operate when the unit is in defrost mode. Read More...
Jamie September 16, 2015 for Model Number AP3958808 I tested my Evaporator fan part #AP3958808 with a multi-meter. From brown and red is shows a reading. From Brown and yellow it shows no reading. From Brown to Blue it shows no reading. Does that mean my refrigerator evaporator fan is bad and I need a new one? Or is there something else I need to test. I would greatly appreciate if you email me the answer. Thanks in advance, Jamie
1 Answer Jamie, To properly assist you we will need your model number to help you with this. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...
1 Answer Hello Dean. Check for 12vdc to fan between red and brown wires. Check for variant voltage (depending on high or low speed) between yellow and brown. If it checks ok then replace the Evaporator fan. If error code still exists then replace main control board 5303918514. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jane May 13, 2015 for Model Number EW28BS71IB3 The screen says "sy and ef" and nothing is cold what do I need to check???
1 Answer Jane, The SY EF error code is representative of being a evaporator fan error. You will want to access the main control board. The control board is located under the front of the unit and you will test for voltage going to the evaporator fan. If there is voltage from the control board to the fan motor then the issue will be a faulty fan. If no voltage then the board is defective. Read More...
