Symptoms of a faulty Drive Belt include:

  • Loud squeaking or grinding noises during the wash cycle
  • The drum not spinning or rotating properly
  • Slipping or failure to agitate during wash cycles
  • Excessive vibrations or shaking from the washer

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Hi Barbara. Is the washer giving any fault codes? What cycle position does it stop in? In the top or the side inside the machine, there are tech.sheets that will be able for you to put it into a field test mode to pinpoint the area in which the problem exists. Such as the pump or the motor. Is the door latch defective? Is the pump clear? Without loading any soap, Put in 3 or 4 towels and start the machine in reg. wash. Observe to see if the machine has soap in it as you may be over soaping and need to cut back on the soap. If there is too much soap then it wont pump out and eventually shut down. Is the cold water inlet valve/hose clogged? Let us know how to help further. Thank you.

Hello Deb. You will need to remove the back access panel. Then place the belt onto the motor shaft and roll the belt onto the spinner pulley. You will want the groved side of the belt to be down on the pulley. Hope this helps.
