Sam April 27, 2012 for Model Number FFU17FC4AW2 my frigidaire freezer is not getting very cold is it possible it needs R134A or could it be some other part does this freezer have a fuse. Thanks
1 Answer Sam, There are several things to check, prior to dismantling a sealed system. Check and make sure there is plenty of room on each side, top and back of the cabinet, Make sure there is no debris, dust etc. under the freezer, or blocking the compressor area. Make sure the door is closing and sealing properly all the way around the opening, and the control knob has not been accidentally moved to a lower setting. Reset the control knob to a lower setting and listen for the compressor to start and run, or does it "click" more than once before the compressor runs. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Lee S. September 06, 2011 for Model Number frt21h7ask3 Hi, I have a frigidaire ref. that makes a buzzing sound when the compressor starts up but not all the time. It sounds like the noise is coming from the relay or capacitor by the compressor. The fridge is running fine but the noise is annoying and I would like to fix it before it gets worse. Any ideas? Thanks, Lee Smith
1 Answer Hi Lee. It is difficult to tell from your explaination what part you need because they are in so close of proximity. Rarely do you actually have a capacitor bad unless it is blown open or very aged but it still is a man made part. The part # is 218909912. The compressor relay does have a chatter sound as they tend to be bad. This part # is 5304491941. Thank you. Read More...
William July 20, 2011 for Model Number 25323082100 Have a upright freezer Kenmore model # 25323082100 compressor wont run. How do I test to see if it is a compressor, controller, or a start capacitor problem?
1 Answer Hello William. The controller 216649303 you can test for continuity from terminal to spade. It should read closed. On the capacitor 218909912, you will watch on the meter for a ohm spike and return to 0. Here is a link to our Repair Forum, this is a free service to our customers. Ed May 29, 2011 for Model Number 253.21421104 My freezer, which was in the garage, stopped running. When I checked to see if there was anything obvious wrong, I noticed what looked like some kind of fuse in the harness just before the compressor. When I looked closer I saw it looked like it was overheated kind of melted. Could that be the problem, is that the run capacitor?
1 Answer Hello Ed. If you have a damaged run capacitor 218909912 you will have to replace the capacitor. Thanks! Read More...
