Hello Kathleen, using a multimeter check if there is 120v going to the compressor start device 216954212. This type of start device is electronic so there is no "click" also the capacitor is only used to increase compressor efficiency, it is not used for starting the compressor.

Hello Leland. As far as the ohms readings go, it is testing good. It can still be bad even though it is testing good. If the compressor is running, but is not cooling, then the compressor is fine and you have a sealed system failure and will need an HVAC tech.

John, You will first want to make sure that the compressor is running. If not then check from the yellow to white wire going to the compressor to make sure that you are getting 120 vac. If not then you will need to check the cold control 216710600 to make sure that you are getting 120 vac. If you are then the cold control would be the issue and would need to be replaced. Pat, At this point, the timer 5304518034 is not the likely issue, unless you have a heavy frost or ice build up on the back wall. You do want to check and make sure, the freezer door is closing and sealing, all the way around the opening. ( using a thick piece of writing paper or dollar bill, Open the door, insert the paper between the door and cabinet, close the door and pull out the dollar bill or paper, there should be a slight "drag" on the paper, if not the door is not sealing properly). Mkae sure the interior light is turning off, when the door is closed, make sure there are no articles hanging over the edge of the shelves, or against the walls. If alls OK, then consider the cold control 5304513033 .
