Ron September 28, 2015 for Model Number GRS26R4CQ1 Freezer cold --Refrigerator at 60 degrees. Replaced evaporator motor did not help. Coils have frost all over them but I can not get it to manually defrost. What do I need to do next?
1 Answer Ron, You will test the defrost heater and defrost thermostat for continuity, if there is not continuity then replace the part without continuity. If these check ok then the issue will be a faulty control board. The control board needed is part number 5303918476. Read More...

Olga September 03, 2015 for Model Number ei26ss55gbo My fridge stopped cooling. Error message on panel said it was the evaporator fan. I replaced it 2 weeks ago.today it is making the same loud noise it did before.. No error message on the panel. What can it be now??
1 Answer Hello Olga. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the control board. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Evil July 11, 2015 for Model Number FRS26R4AB7 I realize this is 12 years old, smelled like cooking baloney one day, then no cold at all. Hoping it is just the capacitor, but if it is the compressor, how difficult could it be to replace?
1 Answer Hello Evil, If the compressor is in need of replacement, it is about a four hour job for a trained, Freon certified technician. Read More...
Debbie June 29, 2015 for Model Number MFC15M4FW2 When freezer is plugged in, the compressor and fan are running but it does not cool down.
1 Answer Hello Debbie, If the compressor is running and the unit is not cooling down, there will be a sealed system issue unless the unit is in an atmosphere as hot as the hot coils. You see, refrigeration works on heat transfer. If the heat cannot be dissipated back into the room, it cannot get any cooler. If this is not the case, the compressor could have an internal issue, there could be a loss of Freon, or, if the compressor is running really hot, there could be a sealed system restriction which would prevent the circulation of Freon in the sealed system, compromising the cooling effect.
