Jill December 08, 2014 for Model Number FRS23H5ASB8 A few months ago I replaced the Adaptive Defrost Control Board so I ordered and installed the damper with one switch. Before replacing the damper the refrigerator wasn't cooling, but the freezer temperature was fine. After replacing the damper the refrigerator is staying too cold, even on the warmest setting. The freezer also is staying 5-10 degrees below zero on the warmest setting. Maybe I plugged in something incorrectly or something came loose when I was taking down/re-installing the housing?
1 Answer Hello Jill, This sounds like you may be over-adjusting the controls. On a refrigerator, the controls will seemingly act backwards so you should first center both controls. Now, with a thermometer inside the unit, make only one adjustment per 24 hour period until the temperatures are at the desired setting. Start with the freezer compartment and move to the fresh food side when it is adjusted to 0° to 10°F. Get the fresh food side to 35° to 38°F then recheck the freezer side. This normally takes about three to five days to zero the temperatures in to the correct settings. At this point, you will be able to tell if there is a problem with the controls. During the adjustment period remember that the fresh food control being set colder will make the freezer warmer since it is an air circulation adjustment. Read More...
Jeremy November 14, 2014 for Model Number Frigidaire frs6r3jbo When I get water from the dispenser on the front of the freezer door water also dispenses into the ice tray. I have replaced te filter and water inlet valve. Any ideas?

Binks October 28, 2014 for Model Number frs23kr4aw2 On the new wire harness at the refrigerator temperature control knob side there are only two wires. The old one had three?
1 Answer Hello Binks, The damper has been redesigned to eliminate one of the switches. The new harness takes this into consideration and if the new harness and control are installed in a unit with the old damper, the connector for the damper will need to be connected to the switch beside the Styrofoam part of the damper. Gary Q September 21, 2014 for Model Number frs23kf6em8 My frigidaire sidebyside is freezing up in the freezer section. Just replaced the damper before I noticed this. New damper seems to run all the time, is this right? Could there be a controller bad? Checked the defrost htr and the t-stat both are ok.
1 Answer Gary, With the unit not going through the defrost and the damper continuously running, the issue would most likely be in the ADC control board. Read More...
1 Answer Gerry, This units defrost will vary as it is an adaptive defrost control. The average will be 1 to 2 times daily defrost. Read More...

Neil July 30, 2014 for Model Number Glhs66ejw0 I have no cooling on freezer or refig side , control panel is flashing a 4. I have removed dust from coils. The lower fan is not running.
1 Answer Neil, The flashing 4 error code on the display is an indication that the damper has failed on the unit. You will want to replace the damper assembly 241600906. Read More...
Johnny June 08, 2014 for Model Number LFUS2613LE3 My frigidaire started flashing the 4 on the # display in the refridgerator side. Everything seems to be working propery though - food is cold, and freezer side is too. Should I replace the damper switch? Or is that not going to solve the "problem" - which I'm sure is something that is going to go bad soon, like stop cooling. And if so, what model. I hear there are 2 different types of damper switches. Thanks!
1 Answer Johnny, The 4 flashing in the refrigerator side would be an error code for the damper assembly failure. The damper would need to be replaced for this issue. Part number 241600906. Read More...
Judy May 17, 2014 for Model Number Frs6hr5hw5 Freezer side works great. Frig not cooling as needed 50 degrees. Some frost billed up under damper cover. No noise. By other q&a,s I'm wondering if I will need more than a damper. Is it hard to replace?
1 Answer Judy, If the damper is not opening it will cause a frost build up in that area and it does sound like the damper is faulty. To replace the damper you would need to remove the control panel and the panel that runs over the damper. These are held in by 1/4" hex head screws. Once removed you pull the assembly out and remove the damper and install the new one. The part number you would need if there are 2 switches on the damper is 241600902. Read More...
Maurice April 02, 2014 Hello my fridge was freezing up and I heard a clicking sound coming from the fridge side. I defrosted the fridge by turning it off for 5 hours but the noise came back. It came from the damper area. I replaced the defrost control but the noise not stopped and the fridge is still freezing up and the fridge side is not cooling. What should I do now?
1 Answer Hello Maurice. It sounds like the damper is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Check the damper and if it is broke, replace it. Read More...
