This microwave high-voltage diode kit converts AC to DC in the high-voltage circuit so the magnetron can heat. Replacing a failed diode often restores heating performance. What it does:

  • Rectifies high-voltage AC to DC for the magnetron
  • Completes the high-voltage circuit with the transformer and capacitor
  • Common failure symptoms include running but not heating, loud humming/buzzing, or blowing a fuse/tripping a breaker at start
  • Visual clues can include cracking, swelling, or burn marks on the diode
What's included:
  • One high-voltage diode
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; microwaves can retain lethal voltage even when unplugged
  • Properly discharge the high-voltage capacitor before handling components; use insulated tools and approved procedures
  • Note diode orientation/polarity and mounting; install exactly as the original

Hello Michael, If the icemaker has filled with water and stopped the issue is most likely going to be with the icemaker assembly 5303918344. If it has not filled with water you could either still have a valve 242252702 issue or no power to the icemaker assembly.

Laura for Model Number FFHS2611LBK

My Frigidaire FFHS2611LBK shoots water out of the water dispenser when the ice maker calls for water. I replaced the diode and the water valve and still have the problem. I unhooked the yellow connection from the valve, which I believe is for the water dispenser, and I am still getting water when I push the actuator (along with a pretty loud noise), and it still dispenses when the ice tray fills. Could one of my new parts be faulty or is there something else I need to test/replace?

Charli for Model Number fpus2698lf0

The water dispenser stopped dispensing water, and no water is getting to the icemaker. I replaced the Valve-water, triple solenoid and was able to get water to come to the tube under the freezer door when I disconnected it, but water will NOT come up into the door to the water dispenser NOT into the ice maker. I will add ice to the ice bin from a countertop ice maker, and the door controls for dispensing ice works, however, I can only use cubed not crushed. So, I'm not sure if it is the dispenser control board, or what I should do next.

Hello Charli, Since the water dispense and the icemaker fill are two completely separate circuits, these are separate issues. Since water will come out of the water line at the bottom of the door but not at the water dispenser, the water line in the door has to be frozen. You should be able to heat the door from the outside with a hair dryer to get the water line thawed out. You should check the fill tube for the icemaker to make sure it is not frozen. Many times, the ice that forms in the fill tube is clear so you will have to use a straw to see if it is frozen. If so, use a hair dryer on medium setting for about 15 minutes to thaw it out. If the ice crusher assembly will not switch back and forth, it is probably stuck due to small ice chips in the bottom of the crusher assembly. This can be corrected by putting your ice cubes in a bowl and washing out the crusher with hot water. Be sure to let it dry completely before putting the ice back in and putting the crusher back into the freezer compartment. If all of these problems occurred at the same time it is possible that someone may have set the units' operating temperature too cold, causing the drop in temperature to be too low, freezing the water tubing and the crusher assembly. As a note, the fresh food side should not be set too warm since this can cause the air circulation to be insufficient to stir and mix the temperatures and it will possibly cause the water tank and crisper drawers to freeze.

Mickey, This diode kit will have 2 butt connectors that you will cut the old diode out and splice the new one to it and then the terminal connector will go on the single wire and will plug into the valve.

Tomtom for Model Number FRS6R2FB3

The ice maker quit working and the water dispenser is dry (dispenser never worked very well). I have replaced the filters regularly, replaced the ice maker, Refrigerator water inlet valve assembly, Still there is no water in the tray and the dispenser is dry. I can see water in the lines from the back of the frig and it will leak good when I want it to. There has to be something stopping the water flow. Where is this Diode located? And would it cause these symptoms?

1 Answer

TomTom, The diode would normally not cause the unit to not make ice or dispense water but would cause water to come from the dispenser when ice is being called for. You will want to check the wiring at the back of the unit to make sure that it is not damaged in any way going to the valve. Also check the filter head to make sure that it is not damaged. This issue sounds more likely that it is either the fill tube for the ice and the dispenser are frozen or a wiring issue.

Guido, You will want to make sure that you have a good filter in the unit. If the filter is good and still no ice or water then the issue will be a faulty filter head 242009604.

Steven for Model Number FRS26F4CW0

I have a Frigidaire frs26f4cw0. The ice maker doesn't fill with water. I replaced the valves and the water dispenser continue to work but still no water in the ice tray. There are three valves, the brown one which lets water in from the pipe, green which goes to the ice maker, and yellow which goes to the water dispenser. When dispensing water both brown and yellow open but it sounds like when it tries to fill the ice only green opens and not brown. Most of the diode failures seem to have the opposite problem, both yellow and green opening. There is a heat shrinked portion of the wires that may be hiding a diode but I'm not sure. Is this the part I need?

1 Answer

Steven, It would be most common for a diode to fail if the valve is not getting power to it and would want to replace part number 5303918287.
