Robert, In order to replace the heating element on the cooktop you will need to pull the unit from installation. Making sure that power is off. Remove the knobs and you may have to remove screws holding the burners switches if there are any. Once this is done you will remove screws around the perimeter top of the burner box that would hold the main top on. Once screws have been removed lift top off and the element will be exposed to be replaced.

Juan, Based on where you have the wires connected it sounds like you have the unit wired correctly. You will want to check to make sure that you are getting power to the element by checking from L1 to H2 on the infinite switch. If there is 240 vac at this point then you will need to replace the infinite switch.

Hello Jose, The same purpose of the little black wire is the same for the metal piece connecting the two prongs. There should be numbers on the terminals of the old that should match the terminals of the new.
