The Heating Element is an OEM part for Frigidaire ovens and ranges. It is responsible for providing the heat necessary for baking or broiling. The element converts electrical energy into heat through resistance; this heat is then distributed throughout the oven cavity to cook or bake food evenly.

Common causes of a bad Heating Element can include visible signs of damage like blistering, bulging, or breakage. A burnout may occur when the element overheats and fails, leading to no heat production. Additionally, electrical issues like a blown fuse or faulty wiring can prevent the element from receiving power.

Symptoms of a bad Heating Element include:

  • The oven does not heat up
  • Uneven cooking or baking
  • Longer cooking times than usual
  • The element not glowing when the oven is turned on

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Santiago for Model Number Westinghouse KB451RXM

I have an older Westinghouse double oven model number KB451RXM. It is 27" wide. The bottom element broke/ shorted out. The model number on the element I believe is 0147361. The other numbers on the element are 2660W and 236V. I believe this is the original element. The element is shaped like a bow-tie and the wire leads are held on by screws. The top element in the oven has been replaced, because it is a different shape. However, the top element dosen't work. I was going to replace this one first and troubleshoot the top one later. Any clue as to what element I need to buy?

Santiago, The part number for the bake element in the upper or lower oven will be 5300207517. This will look different than the original but will work for your unit.

Marty, The only way to get a stripped screw out would be to drill it out or use a extraction tool.

Mary, You didn't stipulate which element you needed, There are two(2) just like the larger oven. The bake element part no. is 318255201/318255201 and the broil element (upper) part no. is 318255700/318255700. Thanks and Good Luck.

Robert, You will want to test the oven sensor from the control board. This will test the wires as well as the sensor. You will want to check at room temperature for a resistance of 1090 ohms. If you turn the oven on for every degree that the oven raises you would add 2 ohms of resistance. If the resistance does not check ok then either the wires or the sensor itself is faulty and would need replaced.
