The Front Felt Glide Assembly is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This part allows smooth operation of the dryer drum, providing a felt pad that the drum glides on as it rotates. This not only helps to support the drum but also minimizes friction and noise, contributing to the efficient and quiet operation of the dryer.

Over time, the felt portion of the glide assembly can wear down, leading to increased friction between the drum and the dryer's front panel.

Symptoms of a bad Front Felt Glide Assembly include:

  • Unusual noises during operation, such as squeaking or grinding
  • The dryer drum may catch or hesitate during rotation
  • Increased wear and tear on clothing due to the drum's rough movement
  • The dryer may take longer to dry clothes efficiently due to the drum's impaired rotation

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Lane, the front felt glide is part number 5303937139 and the lower felt seal is part number 5303283286. The top clips are located at the top of the dryer about two to three inches in from each side. You can use a putty knife to press into the crack betweent he top and the body of the dryer and release the tabs. Hope this helps, thanks!

Jay for Model Number FDE336RES1

I just installed the front felt glide assembly and drum bearing assembly. My question is 2 fold. I installed the drum bearing assembly and stood the dryer back up. The drum leans forward buy doesn't hit the yellow spacer. Is this correct? When I put the front door back on with the new felt glide assemly installed does the drum just ride right on top of those glides? Also those plastic glides hang over the felt they are attached to. Does that overhange get istalled toward the door or toward the inside of the drum. It looks on the instructions like the overhand goes toward the door. The old felt glide assemlby had all the plastic glides broke off and the felt wore about 1/2 way down, so I can't tell from the old one for sure how it goes back on.

Hello Jay. The drum shouldn't lean after it's reinstalled onto the front glide assembly as this supports the front of the drum. The overhang of the glides do face the door. It sounds like you have done a good job! If you have any more questions or problems, please feel free to contact us and have a great day!

Hello Mac. Release the two clips unser the top panel and lift the top of the unit. Then remove the two screws on the inside of the cabinet securing the front panel in place. Pull the panel forward and lift it off the unit. Now you can replace the front felt assembly 5303937139. Hope this helps.

Hello Pete. Disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the top panel off the dryer. Once removed, you will need to remove the front panel off the dryer. Remove any of the old felt seal off the front cover. Put some glue on the panel and on the bottom of the felt seal. Install the felt seal on the front panel and use some clamps to hold the seal 5303937139 in place. Wait about 2 to 3 hours and reinstall the front panel, and reassemble the dryer. Hope this helps.
