Marge July 02, 2012 for Model Number DESF-L-2 My clothes are getting scorch marks on them, and sometimes get caught in the front of the dryer. My husband doesn't know much on repairs of dryers, but upon opening the top and back, he thought the drum glides were worn??? Would that cause the above problem and if so, what part or parts would I need to correct the problem?

Steve June 27, 2012 for Model Number Sears Model: 417.91052000 Replaced front felt glide and lower felt seal about 6 months ago. The felt glide is worn out again. Rear bearing is fine i.e., it has grooves and grease. The drum has no paint where is meets the felt glide. What do I need to do to make the glide last longer, like a few years?
1 Answer Hello Steve. You will need to replace the rear bearing kit 5303281153 if the front felt seal is wearing that quick. Also, if the drum is wore down and rough, you will need to replace the drum as well. Read More...
Lane L. March 23, 2012 for Model Number FDES69RHWO I need to replace the felt glide assy and the felt seals and would like to know where the clips are located to remove the top of the dryer?
1 Answer Lane, the front felt glide is part number 5303937139 and the lower felt seal is part number 5303283286. The top clips are located at the top of the dryer about two to three inches in from each side. You can use a putty knife to press into the crack betweent he top and the body of the dryer and release the tabs. Hope this helps, thanks! Read More...
Jay February 23, 2012 for Model Number FDE336RES1 I just installed the front felt glide assembly and drum bearing assembly. My question is 2 fold. I installed the drum bearing assembly and stood the dryer back up. The drum leans forward buy doesn't hit the yellow spacer. Is this correct? When I put the front door back on with the new felt glide assemly installed does the drum just ride right on top of those glides? Also those plastic glides hang over the felt they are attached to. Does that overhange get istalled toward the door or toward the inside of the drum. It looks on the instructions like the overhand goes toward the door. The old felt glide assemlby had all the plastic glides broke off and the felt wore about 1/2 way down, so I can't tell from the old one for sure how it goes back on.
1 Answer Hello Jay. The drum shouldn't lean after it's reinstalled onto the front glide assembly as this supports the front of the drum. The overhang of the glides do face the door. It sounds like you have done a good job! If you have any more questions or problems, please feel free to contact us and have a great day! Read More...

1 Answer Hello Pete. Disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the top panel off the dryer. Once removed, you will need to remove the front panel off the dryer. Remove any of the old felt seal off the front cover. Put some glue on the panel and on the bottom of the felt seal. Install the felt seal on the front panel and use some clamps to hold the seal 5303937139 in place. Wait about 2 to 3 hours and reinstall the front panel, and reassemble the dryer. Hope this helps.
