Joe March 06, 2013 for Model Number fdgb23rgsi At the front lower section of the drum, there is alot of room between the drum and the wall of the dryer, (about 3/8 of an inch). At the top it seems fine. The problem I'm having is that the clothes are getting hung up and it's ripping them. What do you think?
1 Answer Hello Joe, The front felt glide assembly 5303937139 has most likely worn out and requires replacement. Read More...
Joe T January 31, 2013 for Model Number FDE336RES1 (Serial number XD82571272) Clothes hang in from left top (facing the Dryer) side of drum leaving a burned spot and a tear at times. What do I need?

Brendan November 15, 2012 for Model Number Kenmore 417.90872990 I was having problems with my dryer catching clothes in the front between the rotating part and front wall. It would catch and then burn. I cut down the load size and since we have not had the issue. Now every time we do laundry the clothes come out with small holes. Not sure if it is the washer or dryer, but believe its the dryer. The gap between the wall and the drum is significant. When I push up on the top of the drum it is like it picks it up off the base and evens out. When I do this the gap disappears. It's almost like something is missing that it used to sit on. Thoughts?
1 Answer Hello Brendan. You need to order and replace the front felt 5303937139 and the rear bearing kit 5303281153 to repair the unit. Read More...
Roger G. November 08, 2012 for Model Number 417.80042990 kenmore electric dryer The front of the drum has alot of play in it, you can raise or lower it about 1/4 of a inch. Every year for the past three years sears has come out and replaced top seal but none of them have had plastic guides as yours shows. First it was putting brown spots on alot of clothes, but this time it was doing the same and also ripping alot of our clothes and are warranty agreement has expired. I feel sears put the wrong seal on. The bearing-drum support, bearing brakcet, and bearing seem to be okay. No noise or movement on rear of the drum like the front has.
1 Answer Hi. Then with all you have mentioned then you need to replace this upper felt glide assy. part # 5303937139 to keep the tumbler level and running true to the rear bearing and felt seals as well. Replace the lower felt seal part # 5303283286 as it is more then likely worn out as well. Make sure the rear bearing has enough lubricant part # 5303307893. Thank You. Read More...

Robert August 26, 2012 for Model Number 417.917020000 I am replacing the top felt seal with the glides and I am unable to remove the washer knob. All the others have come off with no problem. what is the proper way to remove this two in one knob so I can remove the front panel to access the front of the tub?
1 Answer Hello Robert. Access the back of the timer 134049600. Hold the clip on the back of the timer knob shaft and with the knob pressed in, as you hold the clip, you will pull the knob off the shaft. Read More...
Bruce August 18, 2012 how long should i let the glue set before installing the door back on my dryer. i have replaced the seal and glide drum top. thanks
1 Answer Bruce, If you do this correctly, you can put the panel back in within minutes, but, don't run the dryer for 24 hours. Apply the adhesive to both surfaces, then apply the glide assembly to the support, lift the felt seal back up (one side at a time) and reset and secure to the support. Let set for 10 Minutes and start to put the dryer back together, and let set 24 hours to properly cure and set glide/seal asembly. Read More...
Art July 27, 2012 for Model Number LEQ7000ES0 My dryer has teflon glides (AP2107932) around the drum lip and felt (AP3777104 & (AP3220737) around the door opening. This results in teflon rubbing against felt. This replacement kit (AP2150497) has teflon glides on top of the new top felt. This means teflon glides on drum would now rub against teflon glides on top of felt. Is this correct? I also don't understand when they say in instructions that "drum lip must be smooth with paint intact". My drum lip is metal, no paint, with teflon glides installed.
1 Answer Hello Art, I think you got the wrong part somehow as the front seal 134440200 you need has no glides made on it. It glues on with the high temperature adhesive just like the other one, but is designed for the teflon glides inside the front of the drum to ride on it. Read More...
Art July 27, 2012 for Model Number LEQ7000ES0 Old top felt had no teflon glides. New part has three glides, and felt is a lot thicker. Can't get drum back on because new felt+glides is so much thicker. If I insert bottom first then top drum lip won't go over glides. If I do top first then bottom drum lip starts to cut bottom felt. I installed glide overhangs toward door (not drum) as instructions showed. I'm wondering if it would be easier if overhangs faced drum. Then the overhangs would go inside drum first and drum would slide up onto felt. In any case I'm stuck.

Gerald July 18, 2012 for Model Number Tappan Gas Dryer I just purchased the upper and lower felt glides as the dryer was putting brown marks on clothes. Item 4 of the instructions says to inspect the drum lip bearing surface for paint. Apparently the paint is all worn off on my drum as it has a smooth metal band with no paint on the bearing surface. Do I need to replace the drum also or will the felt guides take care of the problem?
1 Answer Hello Gerald. As long as the metal does not have a hole worn into it and is real thin, you can use the old drum. Read More...
