Stephen J for Model Number FFHS2611LBRA

After calling Frigidaire regarding loose handle, they told me there are small screws to tighten. There are none. I found the articles here about two models and mine sounds like the one where I need to pull up the handles. I tried pulling up but the handle does not come off. The loose handle is the freezer door at the bottom. I read the part about trying to lift up and pull but that did not work either. I tried to lift up on the secure handle on the non freezer side and it also does not come off. I am at this point afraid to really pull and break something.

Stephen, Pulling up on the handle is the way it is supposed to go on but you may have to try to pull down on it if the installer put them on upside down. When pulling you do have to use force to pull them up or down to release.

Pam, Remove the screws at the top of the handle and then rotate the handle to the outside of the door. Once you have rotated it then you will slide the bottom of the handle off the screw and tighten it down.

Hello Ron. The door handle will have one of 2 designs. The first design would have a set screw on the side of the handle that you would need to tighten. The second design you would lift the door handle up to remove. These are the only 2 ways to remove the handles. Thanks.

Steve, When tightening the handle you should push in on the handle to make sure that it is flush and if you did this and still not tightening all the way then this would be stripped and would have to replace the handle.

Marilyn, Yes for your model you would lift up on the door handle in order to remove it to tighten the screws. Because it is loose you may need to pull out on it a little to get the screw past the slide clip.
