The Ice Container Assembly is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire refrigerators that stores ice made by the ice maker. It includes the container, auger for ice dispensing, and other mechanisms for storage and dispensing.

A bad Ice Container Assembly can result from container cracks or damage, causing ice spills, auger wear affecting dispensing, blockages halting ice movement, and parts wear hindering efficient ice dispensing.

Symptoms of a malfunctioning Ice Container Assembly include:

  • Inability to dispense ice.
  • Ice clumping together, indicating a possible air leak or temperature issue within the container.
  • Unusual noises during operation, which could point to a mechanical problem with the auger or other components.
  • Leakage or water accumulation, suggesting a crack or damage to the container.

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Greg for Model Number GLRS234ZAW1

Do I need the auger assembly for the ice maker to work? I removed the whole system months ago to get rid of the death rattle, ordered a replacement ice maker (#5303918277) from APP a few days ago and installed it - no ice. I can't finder the AA anywhere...must have tossed it out in anger, but the new maker doesn't make. Checked the lines for blockage and freezing but no dice. Ideas? Maybe the water coupling is dead; should I check it? C'mon APP; you're the best! Greg

Hello Greg, You should check to see if you are getting 120 vac to the water valve when the unit calls for water. If you are getting power to the valve then you will need to replace valve. If no power then you will have to check to find where you are loosing power. Also double check to make sure that you have water to unit.

Jerry, are you on a well, or in a hard water area with lots of iron or manganese in the water? You may want to remove the icemaker, or use a mirror and look in the mold assembly and see if the ice cube mold has lost the lining. Thanks and Good Luck

Hi Rita. A few tips. Yes all these parts are to turn together. The ice bin needs to be removed, cleaned and dried once a month or so so ice chips do not build up and freeze. Holding parts together and breaking them. Make sure the ice bin is fully inserted into the auger motor teeth for proper operation. The ice bin assembly is part # 241860801. Thank you.

Hello Yarnie. Look and see if the auger motor is turning. If so, then the ice bucket is broken, and you will need to look and see which part is broke. Hope this helps.
