The Ice Container Assembly is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire refrigerators that stores ice made by the ice maker. It includes the container, auger for ice dispensing, and other mechanisms for storage and dispensing.

A bad Ice Container Assembly can result from container cracks or damage, causing ice spills, auger wear affecting dispensing, blockages halting ice movement, and parts wear hindering efficient ice dispensing.

Symptoms of a malfunctioning Ice Container Assembly include:

  • Inability to dispense ice.
  • Ice clumping together, indicating a possible air leak or temperature issue within the container.
  • Unusual noises during operation, which could point to a mechanical problem with the auger or other components.
  • Leakage or water accumulation, suggesting a crack or damage to the container.

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Clyde, go into the dispenser on the freezer door and check the micro switch for the crushed/cube selector switch, it is a purple wire. If the switch is good, check the wire coming out of the door hinge to make sure it is not broken or damaged, if these areas are good, you may have a broken wire in the cabinet.
