This is the spark electrode used to ignite the gas in the oven. It creates a spark at the burner to light the flame so your oven can heat reliably.

  • Generates the spark that lights the oven burner
  • A failed electrode can cause no heat, delayed ignition, or the oven not lighting
  • Intermittent sparking or clicking without ignition may indicate a worn or cracked tip
  • Carbon buildup or damage to the ceramic insulator can prevent proper ignition
What's included: One oven spark igniter assembly as pictured Installation notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off gas before servicing
  • Access the burner area, note wire routing, and handle the ceramic insulator carefully
  • Position the electrode tip at the specified gap to the burner per service literature
  • Test for proper spark and burner ignition after reassembly

Thomas, For this issue with there being no power coming from the control board to the igniter then the relay on the control board will most likely be faulty and will need to replace the control board which is part number 316418701. Unfortunately this control has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available.

Hello Stanley, You will need to remove the drawer to access the connection point of the wires. You should carefully note the routing of the wires before removing the old wiring since the new wires will need to be routed the same way to prevent them from contacting the burner and getting in a position that will damage them from excessive heat.

Hello Heidi. You will need to check and see if the igniter is glowing. If not, test for power to the igniter. If there is no power, replace the board. If there is power, replace the igniter. If it glows, Test for 3.0-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello stevesargent. The length is not listed. However, If it is to short, you can splice the wires using ceramic wire nuts on the wires of the igniter.
