Thomas M April 22, 2019 for Model Number PLGF390DCA When I try to bake igniter will not turn on replaced factory igniter same problem I have one of those pen testers I’m not getting any power to igniter and the yellow wire pin #3 no power coming out is the board bad
1 Answer Thomas, For this issue with there being no power coming from the control board to the igniter then the relay on the control board will most likely be faulty and will need to replace the control board which is part number 316418701. Unfortunately this control has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Stanley, You will need to remove the drawer to access the connection point of the wires. You should carefully note the routing of the wires before removing the old wiring since the new wires will need to be routed the same way to prevent them from contacting the burner and getting in a position that will damage them from excessive heat. Phil February 18, 2016 for Model Number GLGF386DCE My oven worked this morning, but now neither the oven or broiler will turn on. To the best of my recollection it did seem to not feel as hot as it should for the past few days, but did turn on. and appeared to be working. Now nothing happens do you think it might be the ignitier your p/n AP3963525
1 Answer Hello Phil. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Heidi November 12, 2015 for Model Number PLGFMZ98GCD My top broiler element does not work any more. Not sure what part to get it is a gas range.
1 Answer Hello Heidi. You will need to check and see if the igniter is glowing. If not, test for power to the igniter. If there is no power, replace the board. If there is power, replace the igniter. If it glows, Test for 3.0-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. James January 26, 2015 for Model Number MGR5755QDS My Broiler works but not my oven. I suspect the oven ignitor. I removed the lower cover and turned it on and it did not glow at all. I have not yet tried a continuity test on it yet that is my next step. Am I able to just use the broil ignitor in the oven ignitor plug as a test since i know the broil ignitor works. Wouldn't think they would draw different currents but wanted to make sure. Thanks
1 Answer James, Test for 3.2-3.6 vac at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. Darren December 30, 2013 for Model Number 79071389700 (Kenmore, Range) The oven takes excessive time to pre-heat and then will not ignite to keep hot after reaching set temp. Have replaced the sensor probe, and the Broiler igniter works.
