Bernard April 11, 2014 Top burners on the stove are working but the oven won't fire up. Should I be able to light the burner manually if an ignitor is bad or does this stop the gas from flowing also when you turn the oven on?
1 Answer Hello Bernard. No, the ignitor not working will prevent gas flow from the safety valve. Read More...
Rocky January 09, 2014 for Model Number FGFB33WHSB frigidare I had the igniter for the oven go out (didn't light up at all and had no ohms reading after taking off). I purchased new one, connected the same way as the old one (confirmed the ohms reading at 305) Turned on oven and nothing happened. The igniter didn't get hot. I didn't turn ofF gas or shut down electric prior to install. What could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Rocky. If there is no power coming to the igniter, you will need to order and replace the thermostat 316032411. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Sandy W November 09, 2013 for Model Number FFGF3011LBC The burners are working properly, however, when turning on the oven the ignitor glows red but the oven does not heat up. Do I need to replace the ignitor or could it be the temperature probe? Sandy
1 Answer Sandy, Test for 3.2-3.6 amps at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Hale9127 August 06, 2013 for Model Number FFGF3015LMD We are having a problem with our oven. When the temperature is set to 350*F. Sometimes it will light and other times it will not. If you turn the temperature up, it will usually light. Any suggestions? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Hale9127. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Sue June 24, 2011 for Model Number FGF316DSE My oven takes a long time for the burner to come on, sometime up to a half hour or longer, then when it finally comes on and gets up to the temperature I set it at, it will cool down and not relight, taking an inordinate amount of time to bake something. The igniter does not seem to be getting hot enough, is this the problem? Don't want to buy a new ignitor for 90.00 and find out there is something else wrong.
1 Answer Hello Sue. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the igniter 5304509706 is weak and will need to be replaced. If the igniter is glowing, but not hot enough to ignite the gas, it can cause the problems your having. Hope this helps. Read More...
