Joe August 09, 2020 for Model Number PHSC39EGSS0 My fridge and freezer are not working. I’ve checked the compressor and have equal ohms across all 3 terminals. When I check the inverter I only have 2 volts or less coming into the inverter. I replaced the main board and still have the same 2 or less volts. The evap and condenser motor run when the unit is powered up. The display is reading accurate temps and isn’t bouncing around or giving weird readings. I’m running out of ideas and don’t want to just start throwing parts in the fridge. Could the thermistor be causing these problems? Any other ideas? Thanks.
1 Answer Joe, I was thinking maybe the thermister is telling the board that temps are good and doesn't need to cool but if that condenser fan is running then the compressor should be running as well. If you have [120 VAC] on the black and light blue wire at the J3 connector on the board and no voltage at the inverter then there is a wire broke or loose between the board and inverter. Check all connections at board and in door hinges. Read More...
Joan March 29, 2020 for Model Number FGUB2642LF8 I have a 5Y CF fault. The fridge and freezer are not cooling and the lights are off. I have seen a sensor broken on the ice module with the wires hanging. The compressor is not working, so I checked the invertor board and is receiving 12V but it doesn’t have the 220V output for the compressor. Could be just the invertor Board the fault or it could be the main board too? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Joan, all temp sensors are connected to the main control board, a fault or short in one of then can cause the control board to display the communication fault code and stop operation. If you found the sensor wires have been damaged that could cause this condition if the wiring connection is not repairable then the ice maker would need to be replaced 243297613. Read More...
Lorenzo T February 24, 2020 for Model Number FGHC2342LF2 hello friends i have a problem whit a refrigerator the face control of the freezer go up whit at no reason what is the problem do you know thanks in advance
1 Answer Hello Lorenzo, if the freezer temp setting is changing by itself replace the keypad/switch assembly242167017, Read More...
Bob January 25, 2020 for Model Number LGUB2642LF2 fridge and freezer won't cool. I want to test my inverter but don't know where and how to place the wires from the multimeter? are both probes in a plug at the same time or one in a plug end and the other touching ground
1 Answer Bob, When testing an inverter board you would need to test the small wires for 4 to 6 VDC and you would go to the mainboard and find the connector to test at that connector. At the inverter itself, you would test for 120 Vac getting to the inverter. If there is power but nothing happening then the inverter would be the issue. Read More...
Selena December 02, 2019 for Model Number LFHB2741PF3 Hello, our refrigerator stopped cooling after a power surge. The compressor is not running and we were leaning towards the inverter driver part number MCBE2UN causing the trouble. Are we on the right path? And What part number is comparable with this part?
1 Answer Hello Selena, Your model has internal diagnostics to find the problem. I will email you a copy of the Test Sheet giving test mode information as well how to test the inverter board you will need a multimeter for part of the testing. In checking the parts list for your model the manufacturer has made the inverter board an integral part of the compressor and is not replaceable separately. If it is faulty you will need to contact an appliance servicer for a compressor replacement. Read More...
Jaws79 August 08, 2019 I have a frigidaire fpbs2777rf4. The fans in unit work. The compressor and fan do not. I just replaced the main board and as soon as I plug in the unit it said a loud noise and then it fried the main board again. So my question is, could the inverter be the cause of this.?
1 Answer Hello Jaws79, on startup, the compressor and condenser fan will both start. The condenser fan is powered directly from the mainboard with 120v. The compressor is powered by the inverter board. The inverter board has a separate 120v circuit directly from the main wire harness. The control board controls the compressor through the inverter with a separate low voltage dc signal circuit. You can inspect the condenser fan motor for any signs it shorted, to test it would have to powered with 120v from a test or jumper cord. The compressor terminals can be checked with a multimeter testing the terminals in pairs, all readings should be equal. If all testing passes then it is possible the inverter board has an internal short and sent 120v into the control circuit back to the mainboard. Read More...
Brian June 19, 2019 for Model Number FFHB2740PS1 Frigidaire refrigerator stopped working. No power no lights and the outlet works. Can this be from the inverter board? Unit was made in 2013
1 Answer Brian, The inverter board would not be the cause of no power to the unit but the main control board would most likely be the issue. Read More...
Jennifer June 02, 2019 for Model Number LGUB264LF0 We tested the invertor voltage. Red/black was 8 vDC and the purple/white was 120 vAC. We replaced FRIGIDAIRE BOARD-MAIN POWER (242115279) without change. Fridge still runs, but no cooling to fridge or freezer. Next steps??
1 Answer Jennifer, as the invertor is receiving voltage, and the compressor is not operating, it is most likely that the invertor 241577505 is bad. If there was a compressor issue, normally the invertor would try to start the compressor but an overload protector would click off audibly if the compressor just wouldn't start. Read More...
Jennifer May 23, 2019 for Model Number LGUB2642LF0 Refrigerator and freezer run, but no cooling. No error codes on display. Replaced main control, problem unchanged, no cooling in either fridge or freezer. Repair tech said "circuit board" was bad. Would invertor be advisable next step?
1 Answer Jennifer, you may want to test the voltage going to the invertor. The red and black connection should read 12vdc with the red meter probe at the black wire and the black probe at the red wire. The purple and white wire connection should read 120VAC. If these connections have the correct voltage, then it is very likely that the invertor 241577505 has failed. Read More...
Andre May 09, 2019 for Model Number fghn2844lf8 My compressor won't kick in. The DC voltage coming from the motherboard reads 20 volts DC. My inverter part number is 241-577-5505. I thought I should be expecting lower DC voltage Supply. Does this indicate a problem with the motherboard?
1 Answer Andre, This issue would be a main control board that is faulty and would need replaced. Read More...
