Kathy July 28, 2019 for Model Number PLES389DCE The finish has come off the top at one of the burners I think. I tried to scrub it but cannot get the spot to come off. The problem is that I was boiling water and left the kettle on the burnets far too long and the kettle went dry and actual burned the finish off the bottom of the kettle. Is it a good bet that I have to replace the cook top? I scrubbed and it won't return to original black color. Can the cooktop finish actually come off? Also, has this model # been updated if I were to just purchase a new one given price of the replacement part? Also, I have an overhead micro oven and don't want to have to replace that as well. so would like to stick with same model if it has been updated? If not, what is closest model # that has same dimensions?
1 Answer Kathy, if the cooktop glass 318223626 has been damaged, then it would indeed need to be replaced to correct the glass surface. In regards to any updates to this model, the manufacturer does not list any updates at this time. We would not be able to recommend any specific models as an alternative to your current appliance. Bev July 22, 2019 We have a 40 inch glass cook top range and are no longer able to read the mode/serial number. We have found part #318223626, however, ours has a stainless trim. Does this part come with the trim? If not, do you have this item with a stainless trim? Is this for a range or just cook top?
1 Answer Hello Bev, unfortunately, without a model number, we would not be able to check for that part, the main top 318223626 you have listed does not have s/s trim. It can be used either in a cooktop or stovetop. Read More...
Riitta April 01, 2018 for Model Number PLES389DCB Where do I find the serial number for the glass top or stove top?

Jefft January 01, 2017 for Model Number PLES389DCC The back end of the ceramic glass cooktop on our range is higher than the front and portion of the foam seal between the glass and the countertop is also missing . Are there mounting brackets that need tightening to bring down the back or...? Also, is there a specific type of foam seal that I can use to replace the portion that's gone missing? Thanks, Jeff T
1 Answer JeffT, It sounds like the back of the unit is not seated into the burner box properly and would need to pull the unit out and get it positioned properly. As for the foam tape, there is not a foam tape that would normally be on the side of the unit. You could put foam tape part number 12400041 on the sides. Read More...

Kirk Smith January 07, 2014 for Model Number frigidaire glass top range The large burner contains 2 elements large and small, the small element is out. Do I have to replace the complete top or can the element be replaced ?
1 Answer Kirk, It is possible to replace the element by itself, ant not the complete top. But, you should check the burner infinite (control) switch first. The switch has two(2)_ circuits one for the large element and one for the small element. The switch may have a faulty element circuit. that's a more likely issue than a failed burner element. Elizabeth May 17, 2013 for Model Number PLES389DCC My cook top glass is broken. The burner configuration of the replacement part is transposed. Ie. The large, expandable element is on the front right vs. the left, as shown on the site. Is this really the correct part? My stove was installed in 2004, perhaps the model has changed?
1 Answer Elizabeth, the main top 318223626 is the correct manufacturer replacement. Our picture seems to be backwards, I apologize for the confusion. Thank you. Read More...
Nick C. December 27, 2012 for Model Number CPES389DC3 Hi there, I have a Frigidaire Electrolux Professional Series Electric Range. The model number is CPES389DC3. I have cracked the main glass top which is 31"6/8" wide by 21"3/8" deep. When I look up the part on your website, I am directed to part: MFG Number 318223626 However, when I use the compatibility checker in the checkout screen, the following message is displayed: 'Sorry This part is not compatible. Find parts for model CPES389DC3 Where can I find my model number?' Do you think that the part is compatible? Thank you very much for any help that you can give, Nick

Mark April 28, 2012 Is the answer for the glass top above for gas or electric range? Part# AP3583632 is for electric range. I just order one and it seems like the answer is for gas range. Please verify. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Mark. That is gas here is the electric. The front of the cooktop can be lifted by removing the two screws that secure it to the range chassis. With the cooktop in the raised position the surface heating elements, warmer zone element and their wiring connections are accessible. The top can be held open by using a wood or plastic prop rod approximately 28 inches long. In the photos below a 1” diameter wooden dowel is used. Use caution not to damage the oven insulation blanket when placing the prop rod. 1. Before removing the element be sure to note the locations of the element mounting clips in the support channel slot. The replacement element must be installed in the same position. 2. Carefully remove the wires from the element. Take note of the terminal identifi cation on the element terminal block for each wire connection. 3. Before the element can be removed from the support channel the locking tab on the mounting clip must be closed by squeezing shut with a pair of pliers. After the repair is complete the tab can be re-opened by using an awl or similar instrument. 4. Remove the mounting screw that secures the element support channel to the cooktop. 5. Carefully pull the support channel away from the cooktop far enough to disengage the element mounting clips from the channel. Slide the element out from between the support channel and the cooktop. Reinstall or replace the element by reversing steps 1-5. 6. Once the elements are removed, you can lift off and replace the main top 318223626. Read More...
