The Motor is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. It is responsible for driving the drum rotation in the dryer, allowing for the tumbling and drying of clothes. It converts electrical energy into mechanical motion, providing the necessary power to spin the drum and circulate air for efficient drying.

Causes of a faulty dryer motor can include wear and tear over time, electrical malfunctions, or physical damage. These factors can result in issues such as the drum not spinning, unusual noises during operation, or the dryer not heating properly.

Symptoms of a bad dryer motor may include:

  • The drum not rotating or spinning
  • Unusual grinding or squealing noises while the dryer is in use
  • Dryer not generating heat or insufficient drying performance

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Andrew for Model Number 41783042300

Hi My dryer starts fine and is quiet. After 5minutes it starts to get louder and louder. I replaced the rearbearing kit and it still makes noise. I disconnected the belt and ran the motor without the belt. the noise appears after about 5 minutes of running. When I grab the motor shaft from the rear of the dryer the shaft will move in and out about a quarter of an inch, it will not move up and down. Could this be what is making the loud operating roar?

1 Answer

Andrew, Based on the information provided, it sounds like the bearings of the motor are faulty and would need to replace the motor. There should be no play in the shaft of the motor.

Hello Kyle. Check and make sure the door switch is connected on the unit. If not, this will cause the motor not to start and run.

Hello Lisa, It is a good possibility that it is the motor 131560100 that has failed. Before replacing motor double check to make sure that there is nothing that has gotten into the blower wheel that would cause it to jam and keep motor from running.

Hello. I have a 2001 dryer that my was making squeeling so my uncle replaced the front felt seal and plastice guides. Now the problem is that it will not turn with my normal big loads. If I turn it on when empty or with a half load it will run and heat fine. If I out in a larger load it just hums and will not spin or spins for a bit then stops and hums. I am thinking I need a new motor but want to be sure before I decide to just buy a new dryer or replace another part. Thank!

Lew for Model Number FGRB7800DS0

I paid a repair man $65. for him to tell me the bearing is out, and it is attached to the motor, and not replaceable by itself, and it would be cheaper to replace the whole dryer since his quote was $265.00 to repair it. 9 yrs. out a dryer for two people seems rather short and I'd like to repair it myself. Can I assume since most of your answers are to replace the motor that I will have the same asnwer? Do you check for recalls, or have rebuilt parts?

1 Answer

Hello Lew. Depends on the issue with the unit, but it could be the motor. There are no recalls and we do not sell rebuilt parts. Our parts are new parts. Thank you.
