Bts August 28, 2012 for Model Number FGRB7800DSO The dryer will not start. When I turn the start knob, i only hear a low humming as if the motor is trying to run. If I continue to hold it (i tried to turn the drum manually) I start to smell a strong burning smell. Does this mean the motor is bad or could it be something else?
1 Answer Hello BTS. Based on the information you provided, the motor 131560100 is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...
Mike August 26, 2012 for Model Number gler642as2 When I hit the start button the motor clicks. If I spin the tub it will start, if I turn it off then try to restart it, the same thing happens. Do I need a new motor?
Dennis August 04, 2012 for Model Number MDE436REW1 The buzzer at the end of the cycle will not stop even after I open the door.
1 Answer Hello Dennis. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the timer 5303297177 is bad and is sending power to the buzzer on the unit. Test for power coming from the timer to the buzzer. If it is there, replace the timer on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jt July 31, 2012 for Model Number FDE336RES1 Our dryer stopped working, I replaced the timer/switch but still get nothing. What other things can I check that would keep the motor from starting? I did try the 'hold the door switch and spin the drum test', with nothing happening. I suppose the last case scenario is replacing the motor...
1 Answer JT, There is a "one shot" thermal fuse 134120900 located on the back wall of the cabinet interior. If the fuse opens, due to high heat, or runaway temperature, it will eliminate power to the motor, and the dryer won't start or run. You're going to want to test or bypass the fuse temporarily to see if the dryer starts and runs. Read More...
Kim July 02, 2012 for Model Number frigidaire aeq7000eg0 I just need the round piece on the backside of the motor. The rubber part is broken so the motor doesn't sit properly making it rattle and is very loud. Do I have to replace the whole motor? It works, but I don't see this part sold separately.
1 Answer Hello Kim! Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not offer the parts installed on the motor as a separate part and the motor will need to be replaced. Your part number is 131560100. Thanks! Read More...
Neil B. June 13, 2012 for Model Number feq332eso My dryer stopped working after a couple of loads last evening. When I tried to start it again, it just humed, and would not spin. I think it is the motor, but is there anything else I need to check before replacing it? I looked in the back and the belt is still on. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Neil, Try opening the door and holding the door switch closed. Set the unit to a cycle and reach inside and spin the drum while holding the start switch, (you may have to borrow a third hand from an assistant). If the unit starts, you have a bad start winding in the motor. If you can't spin the drum, you probably have a misguided belt or debris in the blower wheel. Read More...
Joe April 28, 2012 for Model Number Fde647rfs1 The dryer stops working after I put in the 2nd load or after I check to see if the clothes are not dry. I want to restart the dryer to finish the job.
1 Answer Hi Joe. Make sure the vent is entirely clear and not restricted. Make sure the outside vent cap / hood is opening and closing properly 4-5x /yr. so lint and moisture does not back up and create a restriction causing these issues. All this will back up the moist heat and overheat the motor part # 131560100 and cause premature failure. Thank You. Read More...
Walte L March 31, 2012 for Model Number lgq2152ee0 I replaced felt drum seals, drum glides, but when i try to start it the motor hummed and would not start rotating, smoke started coming out and smelled like burning rubber what did i do wrong?
1 Answer Walter, a couple of things to check, Make sure the new drum seals are not twisted or bunched up, causing the drum to jam and not move freely, Make sure the felt seal on the back of the front panel is not damaged and the drum glides did not get dislodged when you reinstalled the front panel, and check and make sure you have the drive belt properly routed and centerred on the motor and idler pulleys. It's a remote possibility, but check and make sure nothing fell or got into the blower assembly and jammed the blower wheel.Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Stephanie February 17, 2012 for Model Number Frigidaire Model #FER311FSO How do I remove the motor from the blower? Any special tools? Thanks in advance.
1 Answer Hello Stephanie. I usually use a pair of vice grips on the motor shaft on the belt end. Do not clamp them on the pulley as this will cause burrs which will wear the belt. Clock wise should remove as your looking at the blower wheel (left handed threads). I normally look at the replacement part to ensure I'm not trying to turn it the wrong direction because if you force it the wrong direction you can damage the part that you don't need to replace. The motor will then easily unclip from the shroud assembly. I certainly hope this helps. Read More...
Andre November 17, 2011 for Model Number frigidaire LEQ6000ES2 I just replaced the heater coil and everything was fine until the second load (and start up). The motor hummed and would not start rotating. The drum moves freely by hand, the belt and idler are intact. I gave the drum a push and there was a click and the motor started working. Is there a starter on the motor that can be replaced or is there another issue?
1 Answer Hello Andre. Based on the information you provided, you will need to replace the motor 131560100 in the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
