This component is a drive motor that is made specifically for washing machines. The drive motor is what spins the tub and drives the agitator.If the washing machine fails to start or makes strange noises, it could be the drive motor that is causing the issue. Other signs that this part is faulty are if the washing machine fails to fill with water, agitate, spin, or drain. An error code reading “E57”, “E58”, “E59”, or “srv cll” may also appear on the digital display. Make sure to disconnect the appliance from its power source prior to attempting to replace this part. Whoever is performing the replacement may choose to wear gloves to protect their hands during this process.This drive motor is compatible with washing machines that are manufactured by Whirlpool, Kenmore Elite, Electrolux, Frigidaire, Crosley, and Kenmore. Hello Lawrence, first run the Test mode to find if any Fault codes are in the control board's memory, to start that test push any keypad once to wake the control then press Cancel and Start pads together for 6 seconds , E00 is no fault codes and washer will briefly start then stop.

Sam, 1. Find out if unit was overloaded.If not, remove belt from the motor and spin the motor pulley. Does the motor spin free? no then replace the motor. 3. Disconnect plug from the motor and measure resistance of the windings (pin 1 to pin 2,pin 1 to pin 3, pin 2 to pin 3).All readings should be between 3 and 6 Ohms. If readings are correct,check wiring from motor to motor control board,If good, replace motor control board.If the readings are incorrect, replace motor.

Hello David. If you are getting a loud roaring noise from the unit then it is possible the bearing in the unit are bad. You can turn the drum by hand to check them. Thank you.
