The Drive Motor is an OEM part for Frigidaire washing machines. This motor powers the drum's rotation during both the wash and spin cycles. It ensures that the drum agitates and spins correctly, allowing for effective cleaning and rinsing of laundry.

Over time, the drive motor can fail due to regular wear and tear, electrical issues, or overloading the washing machine.

Symptoms of a bad drive motor include:

  • The drum not spinning or agitating
  • Unusual noises or humming sounds during operation
  • The washing machine stopping mid-cycle
  • Burning smells coming from the motor area

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Drive Motor (Part Number: OEM13498620)

AJ, Yes the E56 Error code indicates a problem in the motor 137043000 or motor control board 134743500. Here's some help : 1. Remove the belt from the motor and spin the motor pulley. Does the motor spin free? If not replace motor. 2. Spin the tub pulley. Does the tub spin free ? If not check tub bearings. 3. Disconnect the plug from the motor and measure the resistance of the windings (pin 1 to pin 2, pin 1 to pin 3, pin 2 to pin 3). All readings should be between 4 and 6 Ohms. If readings are correct replace the Motor control board.

Hello Brian. Sorry, Kenmore does not offer that information. If you look inside the cabinet of the unit, you should be able to locate the tech sheet to help you test the unit.

Hello Jason. The E59 error code indicates that there was no tach signal for 3 seconds. You will want to access the back of the unit. Remove the belt from the motor. Spin the motor pulley and if it does not spin freely then replace motor. Spin the tub pulley. If it does not spin freely check the tub bearing. If both check ok then disconnect the plug from the drive motor and measure resistance between pins 4 and 5 in the motor. If the meter reads other than between 105 and 130 ohms, replace motor. Measure resistance of the motor windings (pin 1 to 2, pin 1 to 3, and pin 2 to 3). All readings should be between 4 and 6 ohms. If readings are correct then replace speed control board. If incorrect then replace the motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Charlie. Check the pump and see if the noise is coming from there. This unit will not spin until the water is drained.

Sam for Model Number 417.44052400

I have a front load washer 417.44052400. Washer stopped during cycle and towels were soaking wet. Water did drain. When on "DRAIN/SPIN" works for 2 seconds and shuts off. When on "NORMAL" does NOT work. Lock engages, and makes an electrical click, and another electrical click 20 seconds later but does NOTHING. Ran diagnostic test and received error E59. Tub spins freely with or without the belt. Motor also turns freely with belt off with little or no resistance. Replaced motor control board and issue still persists with same symptoms as before. Any thoughts?

Kim, The E55 indicates a motor overheating. You will want to pull the belt off the motor pulley and check to see if the motor pulley spins freely. If the motor pulley spins freely then do a resistance check on the motor pins. Check 1 to 2, 1 to 3 and 2 to 3 and they should all measure 4 to 6 ohms. You will also want to check to see if the tub pulley spins freely. If the tub pulley and motor pulley spin freely and the resistance checks ok then replace the speed control board 134743500. If the tub pulley does not spin freely then you will need to replace the rear outer tub 134507120 because the bearings are bad. If the motor pulley does not spin freely then replace the motor and if the motor pulley does spin freely and the motor does not read proper resistance then replace the motor 137043000.
