Cory October 08, 2013 for Model Number atf7000es1 Can I replace the bearing on my motor or do I have to replace the whole motor? It is making a horrible noise when it is on the spin cycle. I took the belt off and spun the motor freely. It is making a horrible noise. I am sure that the bearing needs to be replaced but I really do not want to replace the whole motor if I do not need to.
1 Answer Hello Cory. If the noise is from the motor bearing, you need to order the motor assembly 137043000. Read More...
Kostas September 16, 2013 for Model Number FAFW3511KW My washer does not spin or agitate. It started with the clothes not being completely dry and a few days later it just stopped spinning. I ran the test according to the tech sheet and got an E5E error code. I replaced the control board and it did not fix the issue. When I run a spin cycle only, it fills with water, and a few minutes later it drains most of it. I can hear a click when supposedly the motor is supposed to kick in, but nothing happens. It doesn't spin at all. It also stopped 1 minute before the full cycle was over. Will replacing the motor fix the issue? I understand that the motor rarely goes out, but we had a couple of power outages in the summer.
1 Answer Kostas, The E5E error is an indication of a communication problem. You will want to check the wiring between the main board and the speed control board. If there is a wiring issue then correct the wiring. If the wiring looks good and you have already replaced the main board then replace the speed control board. If the speed control has been replaced then replace the main control board. Read More...
Mario September 09, 2013 for Model Number GLTF2940FS I'm not sure if the code displayed is: E5b or E56. I'm leaning to E56 (high motor current), since the drum did not move during the diagnostic test. So the question is, will a new motor fix my problem or can it be something else. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Mario, The is more likely the motor speed control 134743500. The motor can be bad but the speed control is the more common part to fail on this design. Read More...
Speedy July 20, 2013 for Model Number FAFW3577KN1 how do you know if its your motor or your speed control board our washer wont turn at all it drain n fills up with water it just dont wash or spin it says E59 what could it be!
1 Answer Speedy, The E59 error code indicates that there is no tacho signal for 3 seconds. You will want to do the following: 1. Remove the belt from the motor and spin the motor pulley. Does the motor spin free? No, replace the motor. Yes, go to step (3). 2. Spin the tub pulley. Does the tub spin free? No, check the tub bearings. Yes, go to step (3). 3. Disconnect the plug from the drive motor and measure the resistance between pins 4 and 5 in the motor. If the meter reads other than between 105 and 130 ohms, replace the motor. If the reading is between 105 and 130 ohms, go to step (4). 4. Disconnect the plug from the motor and measure the resistance of the windings (pin 1 to 2, pin 1 to 3, pin 2 to 3). All readings should be between 4 and 6 ohms. If readings are correct, replace the Speed Control Board. If readings are incorrect, replace the motor. Read More...
Sean May 22, 2013 for Model Number atf6700fs1 I have a fridigair front load washer won't spin. Erroe code of er56 was told to replace motor control board and motor. Motor does turn freely by hand. When cycle is started only hear clicking.
1 Answer Hello Sean. Look for bad wiring. If none is found, then you will ohm out the motor and see if it is good. It should ohm out between 6.1 to 6.5 ohms each way. If good, replace the motor board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Terry January 18, 2013 for Model Number Frigidaire Affinity front load washer Came home the other evening and found that sometime during the day the water inlet valve had cracked and water was spewing all over the inside of the washer, I've since replaced the water inlet valve but the washer won't turn. It will add water and act like its going through the cycles. I tried spin only and all I hear is a low buzzing from it. Could the motor suffered water damage and died?
1 Answer Hello Terry, Either the motor has failed or the speed control has failed. If the speed control got wet then this would be the first choice. If you access tech sheet it will have tests to run to check the motor and speed control. Read More...
Sdbob January 06, 2013 for Model Number Kenmore 417.44052400 The drum will rotate counter clockwise but only moves slightly clockwise then stops, making a clunking noise. The wash load will not complete. What part needs to be replaced?
1 Answer Hello SDBob, You will want to check the shaft of the inner basket to make sure that is not squared off, check pulley to make sure it is good. If these check ok it would more than likely be the speed control board. Read More...
Pedro December 05, 2012 for Model Number LTF6000ES1 My machine appears to be washing and draining properly, but does not spin, at the end of the program, it shuts off with approximately 7 minutes left on the program. I have replaced the motor control board and it is still the same. What do you recomend ?
1 Answer Hello Pedro, You would want to check your door lock assembly. When the unit is stopping at 7 minutes it is an indication that unit cannot go into a spin which most likely cause is the control not showing the latch being locked. Check wiring and connections at the lock latch 131763256. Read More...
Tom October 09, 2012 I'm working on my Fridgidaire GLTF2940es1 washer. I was getting an E47 code and the spin cycle would stop after 7 minutes. Just very wet clothes. The trouble shooting guide says to check the door lock with test #9. The lock ohmed out at 1300, so I replaced the control board. Now it won't spin in the spin/rinse setting. What do I do now?
1 Answer Hello Tom. Based on the information you provided, you will need to replace the door lock assmebly on the unit. Read More...
Carlos July 24, 2012 for Model Number FTF2140FS0 what is the tacho generator and how do i replace it. i'm getting a code e52 and i have no idea what that is or how to even order the part. Thank for any help you can provide.
1 Answer Carlos, The Tacho Generator assembly is actually part of the motor, if it has failed, you'd need to replace the motor as an assembly 137043000 The E52 error indicates a Bad signal from tacho generator. but is most likely an issue with the wiring between the motor and motor control board 134743500 or fault in the control. Here's how to distinguish which : Disconnect the plug from the drive motor and measure the resistance across pins 4 & 5 on the motor. If the reading is between 105 & 130 Ohms, replace the speed control board. If the reading is not between 105 & 130 ohms, repalce the motor. Thanks Read More...
