The bake element is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire ovens. This element is located at the bottom of the oven cavity and is responsible for providing the heat needed for baking. When the oven is turned on, electrical current flows through the bake element, causing it to heat up and glow red. This process radiates heat evenly throughout the oven, ensuring that food is cooked thoroughly and uniformly.

Causes of a bad Oven Bake Element include visible damage such as blistering or holes, which can occur after years of use or from food spillages that corrode the metal. Additionally, a malfunctioning element may not glow red or may only partially heat, indicating that it's unable to conduct electricity effectively.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Bake Element include:

  • The oven not heating up properly or at all
  • Uneven cooking or baking results
  • The element not glowing when the oven is turned on

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Hello Donna, As long as the mount and connections are the same and it will fit in the unit, since the manufacturer recommends this part for the model provided, it should be the correct wattage and operate properly.

Pauline, If you look down where the storage drawer is located on the frame behind the drawer is where the model number is normally located. For replacing the broil element unplug the unit and remove the back of the range. Once removed you will be able to take loose the wire connectors for the broil element. Once you do this you would then open the oven door and unscrew the element and remove. Then you would put the new one in and screw it in and reconnect wires.

Tanya, We really can't say that this element will last any longer, if the terminals are the same it will not cause you issues. Make sure there are no loose connections as this leads to premature failure. Also, if you do a lot of self-cleans try to space them out further.
