The bake element is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire ovens. This element is located at the bottom of the oven cavity and is responsible for providing the heat needed for baking. When the oven is turned on, electrical current flows through the bake element, causing it to heat up and glow red. This process radiates heat evenly throughout the oven, ensuring that food is cooked thoroughly and uniformly.

Causes of a bad Oven Bake Element include visible damage such as blistering or holes, which can occur after years of use or from food spillages that corrode the metal. Additionally, a malfunctioning element may not glow red or may only partially heat, indicating that it's unable to conduct electricity effectively.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Bake Element include:

  • The oven not heating up properly or at all
  • Uneven cooking or baking results
  • The element not glowing when the oven is turned on

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Mary, I would assume you could use what would fit, I would check the old unit to see if it has wattage or amperage listed on it and get as close as I could for the replacement. I also would make sure the replacement doesn't touch any of the sides and make sure you have clearance for all connections.

Melba, If the unit is a range and has a bottom drawer it's usually located there. We would need to know the manufacturer and what the unit is. ex. washer, dryer, etc.
