The heat strip is kicking in when compressor is running. the unit is blowing hot air in any position, fan, energy saver, cool,and of course works great on heat. remote does all functions except turn on or off.

Ray April 07, 2015 for Model Number FRA25EST2 MY unit was working fine on Sunday. Unit was unplugged on Monday for cleaning and now the unit won't start. I have checked my outlet for power as well as the circuit breaker and they are both fine. The plug seems to reset each time I plug it in but the unit does not show it receives power. Danny December 05, 2014 for Model Number FAZ12HR2A2 The control panel the control panel quick controlling. you can't get the buttons to work I removed the panel and manually pressed the buttons and it work for a while now buttons do not control it it just blows you can't hear the compressor switching on and off when you change something but it doesn't work not sure if its a relay or the panel itself it didn't work when I hit the small black buttons on the back of the pen but now it dont thank you

I changed thermistors because of the code it was giving I think it was H5 or HS. The wiring on both didn't look good anyway. How do I test heating element and control panel or relay if there is one I can't remember.

1 Answer Ray, The unit does not use the compressor during the heat cycle. This is a straight cool compressor. The unit has a heating element mounted in front of the evaporator that comes on during the heat selection cycle. If the compressor is coming on during the heating cycle then you would have a bad control board. This issue would be caused by a relay for the compressor sticking. and the control board would need to be replaced.
