This splash shield kit is an OEM replacement part that prevents water from spraying beyond the door seal in Frigidaire dishwashers. The kit measures 1.5 inches in length, 0.5 inches in width, and 1.7 inches in height.  This kit is located on the front lower corners of the dishwasher tub. If your dishwasher is leaking due to a damaged or worn-out splash shield, the kit provides a reliable replacement.

Symptoms of a bad splash shield kit include:

  • Stains or mineral deposits on surrounding cabinetry
  • Puddles or drips developing outside the dishwasher tub
  • Reduced cleaning ability due to unredirected spray patterns
  • Damage, cracks or missing sections of splash shielding

Causes can be normal wear from extended use breaking down barriers over time. Proper shield alignment is needed to effectively direct spray inside the tub.

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Hello Shing, I'm sorry but we will need the complete model number from your units' I.D. tag so we can look up the unit and see what manufacturer built the unit for sears. This is the only way we can tell if the part will fit and work properly on your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Hello Dale. It sounds like the gasket may not be adjusted properly. It should touch the bottom of the tub when you close the door. If so, then it will prevent the leak. If it does touch, the unit may be filling with water to high due to a dirty float or bad water valve.

Jason for Model Number FGHD2433KB1

I bought the splash guards, put them in, and ran a load and they worked great. It fixed my problem of the corner leaking. However every time since they've popped out of the channel when we pull the bottom rack out. They won't stay no matter what we do. I can't keep popping them in and out every time. Am I missing something? I didn't really understand using the flat head screw driver to make them fit. Do I perhaps needs a new gasket as well as the splash guards? The current gasket looks fine but I need some way of keeping them in place.

Jason, You may not have gotten the part in tight enough but here is a link to a video that shows how to get the part in. If the door gasket is not tight enough then it may need to have the gasket replaced. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ki7WnXvdpzA

Judith, There is not a splash shield for this unit. You will want to check the lower spray arm for clogs or for being broken. If this is the case it can cause ripple effect in the tub in which it will cause water to splash out.

Dan, Yes, there will be a small amount of water in the area where you described. The notch in the door seal allows the water to migrate back into the tub, and get filtered and redistributed through the wash system. If you installed the splash shield kit 154701001 and there is still water splashing in the corners of the door, you may have to raise the shields 1/8 to 3/16 inch, and check the lower spray arm for debris and split seams or improper rotation of the arm, causing the water to spray over or around the shields.

Kim, The first thing that you will want to make sure of is that the unit is leveled properly. If the unit is not leveled properly it will cause the leaking issue. You will also want to check the spray arms to make sure that they are not clogged and causing the spraying to be off causing ripple effect and splashing water under the door. Also check to see if there is a seal at the bottom of the door and check it for damage.
