Randall February 17, 2013 My door gasket came off the other day along with these plastic pieces. I figure I should order a new gasket and install but is it necessary to order these plastic pieces as well?
1 Answer Hello Randall, Without a model number I would guess that since the kit has been made available for your model, it is a factory kit to prevent water from getting out into the floor and would be a good idea to install it. If the pieces are intact and you can re-install them, they wouldn't have to be replaced. Read More...
Todd August 11, 2012 for Model Number PLD3460RDC1 When running my dishwasher, I get water leaking out of the bottom of the door. I'm not sure if it's a bad door seal or if my drain pump isn't working properly. The drain pump sounds like it's really struggling (making a loud noise when running).
1 Answer Hello Todd, Several issues to cover here. First off, there is no seal across the bottom of the dishwasher as it is an air gap used as an air inlet during the dry cycle. Therefore, if water is leaking at the bottom, it has to be slosh over. This makes it necessary to look for anything that will put a "wave" in the water. Check the spray arms for food particles in the holes which will make more water come out of one end than the other. Check the sides of the spray arms for separations where they are assembled together at the factory, (top and bottom halves of the spray arms). Check for an over soap situation which will cause the water to foam or suds up and jump the air gap. Considering the fact that you mentioned the pump struggling, I would look for the spray arms to have debris in them. If this is the case, it is impossible to get it all out and the spray arms should be replaced. You need to purge the particles from the unit before installing the new spray arms to prevent clogging them also. The pump needs to be dis-assembled and cleaned out with a wet-vac. This will rid the unit of foreign debris that can be damaging to the new parts you may be installing. To check for an over-soap situation, let the unit fill and circulate with water for about 2 minutes with no soap or dishes in the unit. Open the door and look for soap bubbles. If you see soap bubbles, (bubbles that remain after 20 seconds), the last load of dishes that were run in the unit were rinsed in soapy water. Read More...
Betty July 21, 2012 for Model Number unknown I asked earlier if any of the numbers I gave may help with the model number of the Frigidaire dishwasher I had because I was unable to locate it on the dishwasher. I found various numbers but nothing said the model number. I checked all the places the site suggested and; door panels, under it, over it, inside it, on the bottom of it, top of it and found all the numbers I have listed. Is any of those numbers a help in finding the model number and it seems Frigidaire uses a lot of the same parts for different model numbers, would it be the same?
1 Answer Betty, the splash shield kit 154701001 is used on numerous Kenmore and Frigidaire products however, we can not guarantee that it will fit your unit without the appliance model number. The numbers supplied in the previous posting does not seem to be a valid model number or part numbers. You may purchase the splah shield kit to verify if it will work on your appliance and return it at anytime within 365 days with our no hassle return policy if the part does not fit. Betty July 21, 2012 for Model Number Frididaire dishwasher The model is my question. I have found all different numbers but none seem to match any number that seems right. These are the numbers I have found on the dishwasher: Type 10041810, PN 1542092, 11476-61, 154133001, 154285801, 1542111022 7 PP & PE 31 gal or 117.3 liter. I have a leak in the door seal would that be the bottom seal? and does any of these numbers help locate the model number. I noticed the same seal works on a number of Frididaires is it the same seal for all. My dishwasher was manufactured in 2010 if that helps. Thanks Betty
