Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Starter Device (Part Number: OEM11675565)

Kent, If there is no power to the outlet that the refrigerator is hooked up to then this will be a home electrical issue. If there is no power to the refrigerator but there is power to the outlet then I would look for damage to the power cord and make sure that where the cord plugs to the refrigerator that there is 120 vac to it. If there is no power at that connection point then the power cord would be faulty and need to be replaced.

Marty, You would want to try the start device for the compressor not working. The part number would be WR07X10105. On the Westing house the part number for the start device is 216008900 but has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available.

PJ, if the compressor will not start, the start device, 297259528 is the more common failure. The capacitor is not what actually starts the compressor but is designed to help the compressor run more efficiently. Anytime the evaporator fan and the condenser fan is running, the compressor should be running. If these other fans are not running and the refrigerator is completely quiet, it is either stuck in defrost or the main control is defective.

Early1, With the freezer side working, the starter would not be causing the refrigerator section to not cool. You will want to check to make sure that the damper is opening and if it is then also check to make sure that there is nothing blocking the return air duct at the bottom left wall. if these check ok then check for a defrost issue.

Kali, When the refrigerator starts to cool, do you hear a louder than usual click noise or perhaps a humming noise ? The air blowing out the bottom of the refrigerator should be pretty warm/hot. The cooler air would indicate the compressor isn't running or the condenser coil isn't transferring the heat from the coil to the room air. You'll need to move the refrigerator out, to get behind it, remove power to the refrigerator, check and clean the condenser coils, and area as well as the compressor area then plug the cord into the outlet and check and listen to see if the compressor starts and runs. If you hear a louder click, or hum from the compressor, then replace the start device.

Donnie for Model Number PHS68EJSB0

Hello, I noticed that the ice in my ice maker was slowly melting. After further inspection, I realized that the temperature in both the refrigerator and freezer was too high, and was slowly rising. I removed the back panel in the freezer to access the evaporator fan motor, and found the fan to be functioning properly. The evaporator is cold, but not frozen. I have removed the starter device and run capacitor. The starter device is not rattling, and the capacitor doesn't look, or smell, burned. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You! Donnie

Hello Blakely, This is either going to be a loose wall receptacle, a poor electrical connection, or the control 5303918341 has failed.
